I lived in Mtl for 12 years (from Toronto) it’s not that hard gps wise. I’ve driven and taken the train. If you do take the train, get business class, it’s worth the few extra dollars if the prices when you book aren’t bad.... :))

But its double the price 🤭 there’s me, 2 sons and my fiance haha plus the hotels there are so expensive 😬 i booked the one walking distance to the embassy. I didn’t wana get lost on the interview day or come too early and bathe with sweat! Hahaha I’m so excited. The interview date is like waiting for xmas morning when I was a kid 😝

I also had my medical yesterday with Dr. Lyndon Mascarenhas. I chose this office because it was about about a 50 minute train ride from my house. My entire experience from start to finish was absaloutely lovely. My appointment was at 2:15 but I got there at 2 and filled out a form with my information and provided the receptionist with my immunization records, appointment form, and 1 passport photo. Then I waited about 10 minutes before going into a small room. In there an assessmet form, a urine specimen container, urine specimen swab and some requisitions sat on the desk. The lady asked me to fill out the health assessment form. On the form were some basic questions such ask: height (cm), weight (kg), are you diabetic, pregnant, what medications are you on, have you been hospitalized, do you have a chronic condition that needs ongoing treatment, etc. Once I was finished filling out the form, the doctor came in and conducted some basic assessments such as taking my blood pressure. Nothing invasive. Nothing to be worried about. He was one of the friendliest physicians I’ve ever spoken to. I’ve met many physicians and he’s the first person to greet me with a handshake. I was in the office for about 5-7 minutes. Then he said to go down to the basement of the building and to my x-ray. This took another 10 minutes. Then the part that I guess turns people off from coming to this place, the LifeLabs across the street. Trust me, it’s not that far. Haha. It’s literally a 2 minute walk away and super easy to find with the map he gives you. I’m AWFUL at directions and i was able to find it. Anyway, good luck everyone. We’re almost there.

This is definitely a better way of describing my experience as well.

The only thing to remember with Dr Mascarenhas is they ask for 10 days to turn the report around or $50 to courier it to you!

I said I would pick mine up myself and they did ask me to pick the report up after 3 days, but they definitely stress the 10 day turnaround

Hey all,

I had a proof of domicile question, my fiancé and his dad co-own the property he lives in by himself, but the deed is in his father's name. For proof of domicile is it okay for me to show the driver's license and his tax documents. Or do I need additional documents?

I read somewhere else on this site that they had an affidavit by the parent stating their son lived in the house? Should that be something I should bring as well?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Just wondering, did you have to pay $300 instead of $350 if you’re picking it up? They never gave me the option and I’m assuming I’m supposed to be picking it up but they charged me $350. Or is it an extra $50 + $350 for the courier service?

I paid $350 since I was picking it up myself, but with courier the fee would be $400

I would bring a letter just in case, or the parents could set up a lease agreement with their son too. Always better to be over prepared than not.

You're right - I am quickly going to get that sorted! Thanks!

I have a question I’ve been curious about. Do the documents my fiance sends me that I have to submit (lease agreements, letters from the bank, W2s, pay cheques, etc.) also have to be dated and signed by him on the bottom of the page? We did this when we submitted the I129F. Is that necessary? of course the letter of intent must be signed. But other than that?
