Okay so in the packet 4 when it asks for marriage certificate it most likely means if you and the petitioner got married?

Also it’s asks for court docs and military records. Is that for the petitioner and the beneficiary or just the Canadian?

Anyone know the answer to these questions or how I can find them?

I just didn’t check docs that i couldnt produce? I wonder if what I did was correct.. 🤔

That’s a good question, I assumed the military docs were for the Canadian, but now I’m wondering if I should bring my Fiancé records, he is a vet.

anyone know?

I left anything that didn't apply to me blank and it wasn't an issue! I've heard of people writing "N/A" on those lines and it being okay as well.

yay! And yes can you tell us more about that part of the process?

I went to Dr Lee in Scarborough yesterday and I find him “off” and he never even smiled! I’m just used to pleasant and nice family doctors. Anyway he told me that my son and I lacked certain vaccines despite telling him our fam doc said we are up to date. He just said “your k1 and vaccines aren’t mandatory”? Weird? So it’s okay? He didn’t tell me to go back to my fam doc and get vaccinated to continue. He just sent me off to do the bloodwork and xray and said they will call me after a week with the results and if they are ready with the package already. 🙄🙄🙄

Absolutely! I choose to go to Ian Zatzman’s office in Vaughan, ON mainly because I knew the doctor’s office, lab, and X-ray were all in the same building (which ended up being perfect because I got a flat tire on the way into town and had to Uber the rest of the way; what a day lol)

Honestly, overall, it wasn’t a fabulous experience; I was there for about 3.5 hours and spent a total of about 15 minutes with any medical professional. Here’s how my experience went though...

My appointment was for 1115 and I arrived in the building at 11am. I went upstairs to Dr Zatzman’s office and the small waiting room was very full. Both the receptionists were on the phone so I just took a seat. At 1145 they told me I had one family in front of me and then would be next. A few minutes later one receptionist called me up and photocopied all my documents, took my passport photos from me, and noted all needed addresses (my current address, intended address in the USA, and the address I want my results couriered to). She was a very sweet lady, thanked me over and over for my patience and told me to sit back down and the doctor would call me in shortly.

Once I got in to see the doctor it was very quick. I only spent about 4-5 minutes with him. He asked some questions about medical history (my answer was no to everything so this went very quickly), made some notes on his computer from my immunization record that I gave him, took my blood pressure as well as my height and weight and then handed me the paperwork for the lab and X-ray.

I went downstairs to X-ray first and it was absolutely packed. I suppose as the last poster said maybe this was because it was lunch time but it was absolutely ridiculous. Both receptionists were quite rude and the one asking me questions barely projected her voice across the counter and then got frustrated when I would ask her to repeat herself. I sat and waited for probably an hour and a half before I got called in. The woman who called me in was also quite rude and pointed at a change room and said “remove your shirt and bra and put the gown on”. It took me all of 45 seconds if that to do this and when I cane back out she was gone. I stood awkwardly in the hallway for probably 5 minutes before she returned and she got very mad at me that I didn’t remove my necklace saying that she told me to remove it which she definitely didn’t. I suppose I should have caught it anyway but whatever.. She took me in to where the X-ray machine was and kept asking me my name even though my paper file was sitting right in front of her. She was obviously having technical difficulties with the computer so I was in there for probably another 10 minutes just for 1 X-ray which explained the waiting room haha.

I then went to the lab (I specifically avoided this to do last because I’m absolutely terrified of needles), and this was actually the best part of my day. The lady at the desk was SO nice and chatted with me about my day as she input my information and she seemed genuinely interested which was so refreshing after X-ray. They had a little trouble finding a good vein but I was in and out of the lab start to finish in about 10 minutes!

I think if I had an earlier morning appointment it would have been a completely different experience with less waits and less frustrated staff, but seeing as I already had to leave my city at 6am to make my appointment I didn’t want to make it any earlier lol.

OH and to add.. The one awkward thing while I was with the doctor is that he kept going ON about how awful it was the my appointment was on 9/11. Said he wouldn’t want to be anywhere near any American consulate on that day and literally kept going on about it. Finally I interjected sarcastically “well thanks for the vote of confidence....” and I think he realized what he had just done because he immediately shut up and went back to discussing what I was actually there to discuss.

For me it’s court docs from my fiancé in the US. We submitted originals to the USCIS and don’t have the originals anymore. Only photocopy.

I’m wondering if the court docs they are asking for are just for me. (Which doesn’t apply to me) I would hate to show up and not have what they are asking.

It is my understanding that vaccines aren't mandatory with K1 because it is still a non-immigrant visa when crossing the border. You will need a medical with vaccines for your AOS. The K1 medical can be used for your AOS medical if it's within 6 months. It's worth having them at your K1 medical so you don't have to pay another few hundred bucks to get a new medical stateside. I didn't have a proper vaccination record, so I brought my old family doctor records & public health records to a travel clinic and they updated any of the ones I needed and printed a proper vaccine record.

I also had my medical yesterday with Dr. Lyndon Mascarenhas. I chose this office because it was about about a 50 minute train ride from my house. My entire experience from start to finish was absaloutely lovely. My appointment was at 2:15 but I got there at 2 and filled out a form with my information and provided the receptionist with my immunization records, appointment form, and 1 passport photo. Then I waited about 10 minutes before going into a small room. In there an assessmet form, a urine specimen container, urine specimen swab and some requisitions sat on the desk. The lady asked me to fill out the health assessment form. On the form were some basic questions such ask: height (cm), weight (kg), are you diabetic, pregnant, what medications are you on, have you been hospitalized, do you have a chronic condition that needs ongoing treatment, etc. Once I was finished filling out the form, the doctor came in and conducted some basic assessments such as taking my blood pressure. Nothing invasive. Nothing to be worried about. He was one of the friendliest physicians I’ve ever spoken to. I’ve met many physicians and he’s the first person to greet me with a handshake. I was in the office for about 5-7 minutes. Then he said to go down to the basement of the building and to my x-ray. This took another 10 minutes. Then the part that I guess turns people off from coming to this place, the LifeLabs across the street. Trust me, it’s not that far. Haha. It’s literally a 2 minute walk away and super easy to find with the map he gives you. I’m AWFUL at directions and i was able to find it. Anyway, good luck everyone. We’re almost there.

the form is a standard form that caters for all scenarios. they might use this form for CR1 as well. for K1 applicants, most of us won't tick this box since it's a provision that we need to be married in the US.

in the first page of the packet 3, it says for applicants and not the petitioner:

Packet 3 provides instructions for K1 fiancé(e) visa applicants once the case file has been received at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal, but before an interview can be scheduled. If you are a K1 fiancé(e) applicant or a derivative of a K1 Fiancé(e) applicant (K2), and you have received a “Packet 3” instruction letter from the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal, please follow the instructions below and send us the following documents by e-mail:

i might add: no harm in bringing the docs of your partner into the interview. it's better to have it rather than to RFE.

there's almost something that happens during the course of the application. it makes the ride worthwhile. lol

thx for sharing.

Anyone done with their interview? How’d it go? we’re going to be taking the train to Montréal. They said it’s hard to follow the gps when driving cause the roads sound similar 🤔🤔 one more month to go for me before the interview! Nerves are all over the place lol the final “yes” or “no”..

Has anyone done their medical exam yet? I haven’t been to the doctors in so long (stupid fear of mine) and just want to mentally prepare for how in depth the physical exam is? Any info would be appreciated ♥️

I lived in Mtl for 12 years (from Toronto) it’s not that hard gps wise. I’ve driven and taken the train. If you do take the train, get business class, it’s worth the few extra dollars if the prices when you book aren’t bad.... :))
