Also, what is everyone bringing for evidence of a relationship?

I was thinking copies of pictures from our engagement photoshoot (we are having in 2 weeks)

other pictures

Screen shots from our wedding app

documents from our wedding planning (we planned a ceremony and reception far out for March 2020, and doing the courthouse marriage in nov 2019 (interview in October)

any other recommendations? What is everyone bringing?

That sounds pretty good. I am bringing time stamped photos of us together since the engagement, boarding passes, and letters from friends and family. We signed a lease together so I’m providing that and copies or our engagement announcement.

Question about the medical for those of you who’ve done it already - how detailed of a medical history will they be asking about? I was treated for an aggressive cancer 8 years ago and I’m wondering if I should be ready with surgery dates, diagnosis details, chemo drugs taken, etc. I generally can’t remember it off the top of my head! I’m going to Medisys in Montreal.

I'll be bringing boarding passes of him travelling to see me after we submitted our initial documents, photos of us together, some screen shots of our Facetime call time stamps, some text messages we've exchanged when he was visiting in the last few months, and also wedding dress appointment confirmations and photos of my wedding dress (since we're going to do a courthouse wedding then plan a reception later).

I'm just curious.. to whoever is finished with the interview, do they tell you right after if you're approved and all? Also, do you have the option to pick up your passports/visa at the place or do they have to send it out because my interview is on the 30th and I was thinking I may just spend Halloween with my cousin there and stay till the next week

From the reviews I’ve read here it looks like they often tell you if you’re approved at the interview but I wouldn’t count on it as a guarantee in case they want to check on something first. Also as far as I know the passports HAVE to be mailed. I had thought about sticking around Montreal too but because it can take up to two weeks (or as little as two days) to be mailed I didn’t want to be stuck there waiting.

Hey! I'm so happy to hear that you beat cancer - congratulations to you!! I would bring as many details as possible, just in case they ask. I think I read on Dr. Cheema's website that they want surgery details so you might as well come prepared with as much info as you can :)

This is the exact paragraph on Dr. Cheema's website so it might be similar for your doctor:

"If you have any chronic illness or disease, have undergone hospitalization or major surgery, or suffer from a mental illness or physical disability, you must bring past history, current condition documentation and medical records regarding the issue, as well as, a list of names of any medications and/or treatment you have been prescribed.  Please provide a note from your family doctor giving regarding your treatment and prognosis."

Thank you for posting that!! The Medisys instructions just say

  • Any relevant medical reports or tests results you have for any previous or existing medical conditions

which I find to be pretty vague if you have a complex medical history 😕 I have all my medical files to bring but I can’t imagine them going through every single page.

Me. Again. I leave for Montreal in 8 days so prepping everything!!

My fiance (petitioner) is with a bank that has no physical branch locations (so modern lol). He's unable to get the bank letter for the I-134 supporting evidence. I've been looking through other threads but want to check with the recent Montreal people that this should be enough supporting evidence:

1) Employer Letter

2) 2017 tax return & 2018 extension filing

3) Year's worth of bank statements with deposits & current balance highlighted

Am I missing anything? I'll include his mortgage agreement under proof of US residency.

Hey we are in the same boat. We were thinking, his tax returns for the last 3 yrs, an employee letter, and his automatic deposit receipts from his pay.

The instructions on the I134 I believe says “any of the following” meaning it doesn’t have to be all of what is listed.
