I had my interview last Thursday, and got approved but only once I have sent through tax transcripts. I did that today, almost a week later.

The lady at the consulate printed them out, placed them in my file and put the file on my interviewers desk today.

How long do have any of you waited in this situation? days? months?? aaahhhhhh.

AP can take any amount of time unfortunately. However, in most scenarios it doesn’t take too long.

After my interview, my status was “AP” for a week, and then I sent an email to inquire (bc I was approved without needing to provide anything else), and it changed to “issued”.

It CAN take days, weeks, months, or longer, but it seems like if it was just tax documents, you should be on the shorter end.  Give them a week or two, and if nothing changes, follow up with an email.

Hopefully it’s not too long of a wait for you. :)

I'm curious.  Was this the transcript for the 2018 taxes that they requested?

I ask, because I filed for an extension on my 2018 return and if I need to do my taxes now, I'll go ahead and do them prior to her interview .

Spoiler

Hmmm my husband's interview was yesterday and his status is still saying "Ready"... I wonder if it would make any difference to send an email like you did. I'm worried it'll be stuck like this for a long time. Would you mind sharing what you said in your inquiry email?

I just sent a very brief email saying that I had been told at the interview that I would receive my visa within 7 days, so I am just checking in to ensure nothing further is required from me at this time.

I didn’t actually receive a response, but later that day, it changed.  Sometimes they need a gentle prompt :)

Mmm I see. Thank you. My husband doesn't want to send an email because he's worried he'll look to eager for the visa so I decided to just leave it alone for now. Hopefully the status changes soon....

Ha!  I was the same way.  I didn’t want to tick them off and then have them “accidentally” throw out my file, but that’s where the polite and brief email helps.  Don’t come in hot and rant for 6 paragraphs :)

Hi, me and my fiance are in a similar situation. Her case has been in AP almost 60 days since her interview.  Is it possible I the petitioner can send an email or does my fiance have to be the one to send an email asking if anything else is required of her?

@IsabelleFredrick I had a similar issue in my interview last Friday. I was asked for my tax returns and w-2 for the period that I lived in the US. I didn’t expect it, and the embassy did not request it in advance in P3. I provided it and now I’m in AP. They kept my passport. They didn’t say whether or not I was approved. Any insights?
