Document to bring to USA (Traveling to USA via K1)

To the mods - I did tried to look for the thread and I couldn't find it, but would appreciate any link to it or something similar (and to the other who has seen it).

 

Something came up and my Fiancé asks me what are the document that should be brought to the USA for better future planning.

So far I dug up this:

Carry On:
-Passport/Packet for the customs at the border/never open that
-Birth Certificate, unexpired .. will be mostly used a lot like 5+!! So will have to make a lot of copies too! English translations can be used for sooner processes and can have the other language to translate for later uses if it's less expensive for now.
-Immunization records
-your other documentations that you have that you must keep/ID's/etc.

Can anyone else contribute what's good and for those who has already entered, what are something you could've brought?

Any document(s), or type of document(s), or heirloom, that would be very difficult, if not impossible, to get an original/certified/notarized copy of without an inordinate amount of trouble or expense.

The only items you will need in your carry on are your passport, which will contain the K-1 visa, and the unopened packet from the consulate.  That's it.

I would carry on any document that was important to me, to remain in my possession rather than trusting it to baggage handlers or lost luggage.

Agreed.  I was reading this more as OP asking what absolutely must be in the hand luggage for CBP, but maybe not.

University/school transcripts

Birth certificates of children, whether accompanying or not

Medical records (e.g., images on CDs + doctors' reports)

Property records

Pet documents, if applicable

 

Once here, immediately buy:

Well it could be anything, but the carry on was an idea because if your luggage get lost... those replacement can get pretty expensive!
