Hi All,

My husband came here on a K-1 visa in April 2017. We filed for his adjustment of status in December 2017. My questions are:

1) He had a medical examination in Feb 2017 in his home country. Does that expire after so long? I am asking because in the letter giving us our interview date it says to make sure he has the i-693 completed.

2) I speak Spanish... do I count as the interpreter for my husband or do I need to hire a Spanish speaking interpreter for my husband's interview.

3) We rent from my mom but don't have that written down legally... Therefore we don't have anything jointly besides a savings account. Is this going to be a problem? We do have a son together but no like bills or anything.

4) Can someone (the more people the better) who has been approved send me a copy of their interview checklist?

Also I don't know how to change it but I am not at the California Service Center... I am at the Seattle one. Idk if that makes a difference for the answers..

Thank you!! :D

Your husband's medical is valid for two years from the date it was performed. It could be considered expired as the policy changed last November; depends on the agent interviewing. You can take with you the document that states its validity, to be on the safe side. If it is still considered expired -unlikely-, you'd get an RFE.

You cannot be the interpreter so you'd need to hire one.

You can get an affidavit from your mother stating that you both live together. As evidence you can bring joint tax returns, any document that lists him as a beneficiary: health insurance, life insurance, 401k, etc. You can also bring mail addressed to both, driving license from both or any document that shows you have the same address.

There's plenty of posts around listing evidence for AOS interview. Search on your local office reviews in the forum.

Your medical has to be within 60 days of application when filed. You need a certified letter from your Mother that you live there together and pay rent. You also can bring anyone you want to interpret.
