Did you even open up the pdf I sent you in the other forum for the I485??

It's there on page 6!

The base fee for this application is $325.00, or $225.00 if you are under 14 years of age.

There is no application fee if you are filing as a refugee under section 209(a) of the INA.

If you are between the ages of 14 and 79 years, there is also a $70.00 biometric services fee for USCIS to take your fingerprints. If necessary, USCIS may also take your photograph and signature as part of the biometric services. Following submission of your application, USCIS will notify you when to go to an Application Support Center to be fingerprinted.

Submit both application and the biometric service fees with your Form I-485.

For example, if your application fee is $325.00 and you are between the age of 14 and 79 (which means you must be fingerprinted), the total fee you must pay is $395.00.

Fees must be submitted in the exact amount. Do not mail cash. Fees cannot be refunded. All checks and money orders must be drawn on a bank or other institution located in the United States and must be payable in United States currency.

The check or money order should be made payable to the Department of Homeland Security except:

-If you live in Guam, make your check or money order payable to the ''Treasurer, Guam.''

-If you live in the U.S. Virgin Islands, make your check or money order payable to the ''Commissioner of Finance of the Virgin Islands.''

Yes, that's my understanding from an initial reading as well. This is puzzling and seems a bit unfair upon initial reading. Why do the K-3 petitioners get a break? Even factoring in the I-130 fee, the K-3 petitioners are still paying less. WTH? There's more paperwork involved with an I-130 and K3 filing, so why are their fees lower? Something is wrong here. What am I not understanding?

Oh Do you mean it will start from July?? so how much do i need to pay for my I-485 i mean right now ???

If you file your AOS application NOW it will be $325 plus $70 for biometrics, a total of $395. The EAD and AP fees are the same too if you file now. AFTER July 30, 2007 is when the new fee structure takes place. Better file now if you can.

I too am most curious as to why K1s are now getting a somewhat rougher deal than K3s and much rougher than CR/IR-1s.

My basic calculations:

Total K1 now, with Employment Authorization and Advance Parole = $915

($170 for I-129F, $325 for AOS, 70 for Biometrics, $170 for AP, $180 for EA)

Total K1, filing now, AOS after July 29th = $1180

($170 for I-129F, $1010 for AOS package inc. biometrics, EA and AP)

Total K1, filing and AOS after July 29th = $1465

($455 for I-129F and $1010 for AOS package)

Man. On the link provided by G&A, this one it states that applying for the CR-1 (in our case) now would only cost $640 while the new fees will leave it at $805.

Hope these numbers are right?

That is so much more attractive (cheaper, arriving as PR) but going down this road could entail a much longer time apart. I guess I hadn't seen it in fine print yet, that our K1 route will cost at least $500 more CR-1 and cause the fiance(e) all kinds of trouble once in the US. But we will be together through this!

i think you are right on the money..

:innocent:

BTW, Under what circumstances would someone filing for CR/IR-1 NOT need to pay I-864 fee (having affidavit reviewed domestically?) From the info in your link above it appears this is a possibility...

"I-864 : $70 $70 (Affidavit of Support Review (fee only when AOS is reviewed domestically))"

Is this for those who can use DCF nowadays (you lucky, lucky devils!)
