URGENT- Flying Abroad

Hello, I need your help!

 

I'm taking a one week vacation to Italy.

I'm a permanent resident with a conditional green card. My green card and driver's license are in my married name. My boarding pass is in my married name.

But my passport is in my MAIDEN name.

I've already spoken with TSA and US Customs and I should be good because my green card is in my married name.

 

I'm also flying Iberian airlines and Finnair. HELP! Will I be denied boarding the plane?! Is there anything I can do- bring a marriage certificate, etc as proof I'm the same person?

I think you should have booked the flight in your Passport name.  Take your marriage certificate and hope they accept it at the airlines, and outside the US.

Second that. Airline tickets should be booked to the name on the passport because that is the international travel document. Marriage certificate can be whipped out when entering the US if CBP has question, but they have to accept a US marriage certificate.

Agree.  I would think there is a possibility that a mismatch between the passport and Green Card could cause issues outside the US.

You need to confirm with the airlines not the TSA and US Customs as they have no authority over airline policy regarding the required travel documents. As said, the general requirement is the flight ticket (boarding pass) name must match the name in the passport. While some airlines may have exceptions, rather be safe than sorry by contacting the airlines.

I had been denied boarding cause my first name was misspelled in boarding pass.

Passport and ticket must match. The greencard doesn't have to match, you can just bring your marriage certificate just in case.

It's a requirement for every airline I've ever flown that the name on your passport must match the name on your ticket, and they do an APIS verification on that information prior to the flight. Doesn't matter if you have a marriage certificate.

It's the airline you need to be talking to.

I agree with many of the above, the tickets should be in the name on the passport, not the GC.

when are you planning to go?  You need a new passport, STAT!
