No.  I did include a cover letter and explain in my petition that even we had wedding, it was not legalized by Vietnamese Law (It is called Vietnam Marriage and Family Law). Basically, the law states that a couple is only considered legal marriage if and only if that couple registered with Vietnamese government and received the official marriage certificate.

You call it what it is.  That's a reasonable explanation

I really hope it won’t be an issue, do you think I should change his name before I print chat logs for our binder of evidence?

So do you plan to submit a letter at the interview stating that “Mi Esposo” is just a pet name?

I’m not sure a contact name is as serious as a wedding ceremony, but I plan to send updated letters of intent & if they ask I’ll be prepared to properly answer 🙂

1.  I was referring to CBP officer who sometimes look through phones at the point of entry.......

2.  Anyone can file as single.

3.  There is no central marriage registration in the United States.  The ONLY thing you can provide is a sworn statement that says "I am not married"........and if you present that at the interview, it very well could raise suspicion.

Oh yeah definitely. This happened back in 2017 we are still going through the process. What seems to be happening now more and more is once someone is expedited from airport and then marries after the fact and then a petition is filed, petioners in the us are being interviewed at local offices. I’ve recently seen this happening more often.
