Hello Everyone,

I was married recently in Pakistan, and we follow a strict interpretation of Islam. There are many limitations placed on us due to our family’s strict interpretation of Islam, the religion we follow. First off, Hina, my spouse, and I were not able to spend time together before marriage in person due to these restrictions. Islam has a strict restriction of cohabitation or any physical relation between a man and wife before marriage. We were not allowed to be in the same room alone and if we were in the same room, she would be under a head veil covered from head to toe, except her eyes and it would be amongst family. Even during our marriage, we sat in a room divided by curtains and the men and women of the family were sat separate.

I have the following pieces of evidence:

  • A will with her name on it
  • Call log history
  • Chat history
  • Beneficiary on Employer Life Insurance
  • Affidavits from friends and family notarized and signed
  • Authorized User on Credit Card

What else can i do?

Great.  Don't worry about the joint US bank account at this stage.

I also have evidence of her name change. She has an ID card and on it she takes my first name as her new legal last name. And underneath it it says husband name with my name.

Would that be good evidence as well?

Is the amount I have viable right now?

That is a good piece of evidence..........I think you have sufficient evidence for the I-130 process at USCIS.  The NVC and consulate segments will be determined by your ability to financially support her and the perception of the consulate officer at the interview.........I think you are certainly on the right path at this point.
