My fiance interviewed at the US embassy in Madrid and they told her she was approved and will recieve her passport and Visa packet via courier or local mail in 10 buisness days or less and it has already been 38 buisness days past her interview date. She still has not received anything in the mail and the status on the ceac link shows (No Status). What should we do?

@Jorgedig, yes she has tried calling the embassy in Madrid and it takes her through all the options but when she chooses an option it just rings and no one answers. I'm not sure why it is taking this long because they told her at her interview back in March 26 that she was approved and will recieve her passport etc... within 10 buisness days.

For some embassies, emailing is the way to go.  AP can also occur after interview with verbal approval, for various reasons.

On CEAC, are you checking the status under "non-immigrant visa"? If so, check under immigrant Visa instead to see your status.

An approval on spot doesn't really mean much. What you want to see is the CEAC status showing "issued", only then are you actually approved.

@Scandi, I checked under both, non immigrant shows No Status and when I try checking for immigrant it says not valid.

@Jorgedig, I check the status of her case everyday through CEAC. It has been 38 buisness days from the date of her interview and I was wondering if what you say is true and it went to AP stage, is it normal for the status to show No Status still? I figured after so many days the status would at least change but this is all new to me.

Update @Scandi, I was entering the wrong case number for the CEAC link. I checked the immigrant section using the correct case number and it says Administrative Processing. Today is day 55 from the interview date.

Yeah, so no need to wait for the passport to show up as the case hasn't even been approved yet. You want the status to change to "issued" first.

There's nothing anybody can do for you here on VJ, it's all in the hands of the embassy.

Thanks so much for the info. Should we still call if it's been past 60 days from her interview or is that still normal for other people's situations too?

You can always call/email of course, not sure how much that'll do for you though.

Yes I may do that thanks. I've read others that have done the same and their status has changed the next day ( could be coincidence ) but worth the try. Thanks again for the info.
