CFO guidance and counseling appointment

Hello,

Does anyone out there know what the approximate wait time is for the CFO guidance and counseling appointment in Cebu, or Manila? I was told it can be two months from the time of scheduling until the actual appointment. My fiancé's K1 visa was approved on 5/17/19. Thanks to all who provided helpful responses to my posts. The US embassy took her passport and will return it by express mail. I'm hesitant to schedule anything further until she has her passport in hand. Does the CFO also return the passport by mail? I had previously purchased a one way ticket for her so we can fly back to the US together on 8/5/19. It can be rebooked with a fee but I would prefer not. So I am hoping we can get the CFO certificate and get her passport back before then. Thanks again for your help.

The CFO doesn't take your passport and mail it anywhere. Your fiancee will have to attend the seminar, and if she already has her visa on hand she will receive the CFO sticker after the session, however she could and should have attended the CFO GCP session before the embassy interview so all she needed to do was present the certificate for the CFO sticker. This is allowed for fiancee and spousal visa holders, but given that it is not currently an option you will have to look with her to see what dates are available via the CFO.

She does not need her passport (or visa) to attend CFO-GCP seminar.  Nor does CFO keep the passport at anytime.  Grab the soonest appointment that shows up, attend the seminar, get the certificate, return later to get the sticker in the passport if the embassy still has her passport.

Embassy doesn't use express mail, they use 2GO for delivery of the passport w/visa after ISSUED.    Tracking info near the bottom of the page:

R. did her CFO five months before her k1 interview. She received her sticker in Manila after the K1 interview. Painless.

Finally done...
