Our date is June 18th...we just found out today!! I'm reading about a form OF167, is this something we need, and if so where can I find it?? Also, we never made copies of our original K1 application, is this going to be a problem? And one more thing, can someone help me find a good checklist of everything we'll need to bring to the interview?? I've tried searching I guess I"m just no good at finding what i need. I"m just very nervous and stressed but so excited so my brain's not working well right now!! Thanks.

Melissa , Congrats!!!!!! Very good feeling to finally know the date eh!!

Montreal doesnt use the OF-167.

the only potential problem not having a copy of the k-1 is if by some freakish happenstance your file was lost at the consulate.

how the heck did I miss you on the timeline list? and why did you let me get away with it? :P

Did you get a letter stating your interview date? Either that letter, or maybe in addition to that letter, you should have received a "checklist". That's what you need to bring to the interview. The OF-167 I received in the mail WITH my interview letter. That was Vancouver though.

There was an ealier thread on here, perhaps it's even on the embassy reviews where someone had scanned a copy of the checklist you're given when you arrive inside the Consulate, to arrange your papers in order. It would have what papers you are to present at the interview.

Hope this helps.

Edited to add: Congratulations on your news of the interview! Best of luck!

For the interview, you need to take:

* the letter giving you your interview date. You'll need this to get through security. this letter should also state anything else specific that you need to bring with you.

* all the paperwork that you checked off on the checklist that you had to send in. For example: the police certificate, the envelope full of your medical results, etc etc.

* an updated letter from the USC stating that he/she is still free and willing to marry you once you get to the US.

* any forms that you are supposed to take with you and sign when at the consulate

* any other evidence of relationship that you want to take with you. For example, I took things that showed our relationship was still going strong since we sent in the I-129f -- pictures from trips we took together, my engagement ring receipts, etc.

Make sure that you don't take too much, in that you are only allowed a small bag/purse through security -- no backpacks or anything of that nature, they will turn people away and not let you through.

I have all my paperwork in a 13 pocket accordion folder I purchased at Staples. It's loaded with original documents along with a 2 copies of everything we sent. I have the complete packet 3 copied also in there. You might say I am just leery of Montreal and the whole USCIS process :) There is also the engagement receipt, pics of us , airline boarding passes emails, cards we exchanged phone bills, calling cards (evidence of our ongoing relationship) along with restaurant, theatre receipts and other events we attended while I was visiting Lorry

Will they allow me through security with this accordion folder? It has a clear plastic front but the back flap is a solid tan color. I hope it won't be a problem, as it would be difficult keeping everything orderly in a plastic bag

That's pretty much what I'm bringing in too so hopefully it'll work.
