Senior Master Sergeant, US Air Force- Retired (after 20+ years)- Missile Systems Maintenance & Titan 2 ICBM Launch Crew Duty (200+ Alert tours)

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Sorry for your loss.

 

I know you will have to provide the death certificate and switch to a waiver bc your spouse passed, however, I am not sure if you have to notify USCIS immediately or just wait until the interview, so hopefully another member can chime in on that.

A said above when you have received the death certificate you can mail in a copy of it along with a statement saying you will switch to a waiver.

I will not add time to your case more than others but they are very backlogged so you still have some time yet.

The only thing to keep in mind is you can only file USC after 5-year rule now just so you don't file soon.

So basically what you saying is it would take the usual time to remove the conditions, in addition to i will be eligible to apply for the citizenship 5 years from the date i got the first conditional green card instead of the 3 years?
