Translating Text Messages

My husband and I have lots of text messages between us. They are in mixed English and Moroccan Arabic.  We would have to translate them, but translators in Morocco don’t usually translate Moroccan Arabic as it is a dialect of Arabic, and in this case not written in Arabic script. Can either one of us translate our text messages, and write an affidavit that we have knowledge of the language? Or should we still ask an official translator/do this through another method? 

 

Also how many text conversations is a good number to include ?

From my understanding, text messages do not have to be translated. They just want to see conversations happening on a regular basis as normal couples do. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.
