This is probably a small portion of all the Cubans applying to reunite with family members but I had no space to find information on my case.

I applied to bring my mother as she had been denied visitor's visa twice (posible immigrant) although she had no intention of actually come and live here. I started her application process in February 2018, Her case was approved by USCIS and sent to NVC in October 2018. It took me longer than expected to complete all the requirements by NVC but the case was complete in March 2019 and now we are waiting for the interview to be scheduled. I have been looking for information on how long to expect this part of the process to last, cause they say it could take 60 to 90 days for NVC to setup the appointment. In my search I have only seen a couple of people with postings confirming waiting times of 6-7 months in this category (IR5). Did you have a different experience? Are you waiting now for the interview? I will be updating with my information as soon as my status changes.

This is the message on the US Embassy website in Havana. Not sure what to tell ya. Maybe inquire directly with DHS/State? Maybe try contacting your local Congressperson/Senator?

Dear visa applicants,

Due to a drawdown in staffing, the U.S. Department of State has suspended almost all visa processing in Havana. U.S. Embassy staff remaining in Havana will continue to carry out only core diplomatic and consular functions, including providing emergency assistance to U.S. citizens in Cuba. Click on the links below for more specific information regarding nonimmigrant and immigrant visa processing.

The State Department and the Department of Homeland Security are determining arrangements for processing applications under the Cuban Family Reunification Program (CFRP).  We will communicate any future plans as they are decided.

Thanks USS_VoyagerMy post is actually aimed at sharing the length, obstacles and good stories of cases in this category, especially because right now there is no official way of figuring out how long NVC will take to schedule the interview. I assume every category is treated differently and unlike USCIS, there is no website we can consult to determine for example how long is it taking Guyana to schedule appointments (at least in this category). People sharing their experiences will help. Thanks for the info!!

I did apply to bring my mother from Cuba. My case was ready at the NVC December 10/2018. Interview had been scheduled for June 18/2019.
