Apply for green card without SSN?

Can we submit the green card, EAD, and AP application before having the SSN? 

 

We went to apply for the SSN last week but it went into manual verification, they couldn't find my wife's name in the system.

Yes . You can apply. 

 

You probably have to wait until you get ead to get a ssn anyway. Or if your spouse just arrived, wait another week or so and go to the ssn office again.

Yes you can apply for I-485, i765 and i131 without the SSN. You can even apply for a replacement SSN card on the i765 just in case you don't get one from your local SSA. Just explain in the additional information section that you have applied but to have not received it yet.

Meaning you applied in her married name instead of her maiden name as recommended?

Nope, we used maiden name.  We even waited over a week to go apply.

All the more reason to apply in her married name on the I765.

We applied for SSN and it went to manual verification. We declined applying for SSN when we sent in AOS paperwork and we received his SSN card in the mail about 4 weeks after we initially applied at the SSA office.

The guy at my SSA office told me that usually it takes 3-4 weeks for information to be available in the SSA system from immigration.

if you're not in a hurry just apply for ssn after you get your ead or greencard..ssa is a pain in the A×× most of the time.
