Bona Fide Marriage Evidence whit a LDR

So my recent wife and I just got married, we have been in a long distance relationship for 5 years, we don´t have any financial joint documents or kids. I am just looking for more experienced people's ideas for "bona fide" marriage proofs when your spouse is OUTSIDE the US?  We have our social media messages, pictures, all the trip evidence, letters from friends and family. What else can we file as evidence?

You can only present what you have.  Since you haven't lived in the same household, the best evidence is of time spent together. Sounds like you have plenty, so you're on the right track.

 

Can the USC add the spouse as beneficiary to any retirement accounts/investments/insurance?  Draw up a POA document and wills?

My wife and I just completed our journey last month. We were in long distance relationship like 3 years before we got married. My wife actually did not want to be rush so she rejected my proposals a few times  (thus I visited her many times than many other Vietnamese)

 

- I did not add/try to add her to my 401k, other investments, credit card, life-insurance, etc.  However, many did these.

 

- Passport stamps and my credit bills showing for my visits and our travel togethers as primary ones

 

- Photos as secondary ones attached to primary one. We did not have too many photos - just 1 for each important events.

 

- Some wedding photos and some pre-wedding photos. 

 

- Receipts of wedding gifts from two families and some proofs that we planned our wedding toghether

 

- Photos that I visited her relatives in US

 

- Call logs/chats. We used 1/2 page for each month.

Congratulations on the approval of Your petition. I have a question are you (US) Citizens? Did you expedite your case for any reason? What is your priority date is it August 2, 2019? Thanks again and congrats

My wife is a US citizen, we did not expedite, right now we are just on or NVC case number. Yes my priority date was August 2. Thank you! Good energy to you and your journey.

I knew my husband for 5 years before we got married. Pretty much all we sent were photos with each other and each other's families and friends and 3 affidavits from third parties as evidence of bonafide marriage, as we had nothing else we thought would be helpful. It was clear we were in different countries in photos so I didn't use stamps. That being said, send whatever you have. My case was very straightforward and easy so it really all depends on your situation and how difficult your embassy is.

My husband and I have not met physically sinced we married 10 years ago. This was due to an affair he had and a child was born out of the affair. Now we have reconciled and he wasn't to file petition for me. However he can only come visit me three months from now. Sinced we reconciled we have photos and message, and call logs of our relationship. Can he go ahead and file the petition or should he wait till he visit me

How long were you together (physically) after the marriage before you separated? Even if you have met the criteria of being together in person after the marriage, I’d wait until you’ve had at least one more in person visit - and ideally more than one. If it’s been 10 years then don’t rush it now and risk a denial.

Just focus on evidence of time spent together in person, like passport stamps and boarding passes, etc.  Photos are good secondary evidence.  Leave out letters/affidavits from friends.  Makes you look desperate.
