Hello all,

My wife's conditional green card will expire in August. Our I-751is ready to file but we are traveling to Sweden June 14th-July 2nd.

I have worked out that this will probably put the biometric appointment during our trip.

Because of this we feel it's best to file just before we leave but than we would not get the 18 month extension letter.

The question is how with the CBS with treat her with her GC just about to expire.

Has anyone else traveled with a GC so close to the experation date?

Any advice on our situation?

Likely not a problem, though they may mention the upcoming expiration.

Hope and pray that you don't have anything happen that would force her to stay abroad after her conditional GC expiration expires. She might have some issues with CBP when trying to re-enter the US.

Suggest that you file your ROC petition within the 90 day window. These days with USCIS, who knows when biometrics appointments will be scheduled.  If I knew that I would be picking the next six numbers on the lottery. 🤣  With the high importance of making that appointment, I wouldn't miss it, or risk USCIS considering your case is abandoned. USCIS held our family "captive" for several years, remember it is still their ball game, their ball field, their ball and their rules, they are calling the shots.

Wish I had a better answer for you.....but we are all still dealing with USCIS.

Good luck on you immigration journey.
