It has been seven months since i file my AOS and until the days after my Infopass appointment hadn't been touched for 4 months.

Now I have an RFE. Fot the I693!!!!! I had the damn medical done at great personal expense in London! This has really pis**d me off!

I don't suppose there is anything i can do about it, just get another one done! Aaarrrggghhh!

Hey, same thing happened to me today as well - RFE for a medical that is not required. We are going today or tomorrow to Infopass to see what they tell us. I'll let you know how it goes.

Had the same thing happen on my daughter's case. My AOS got approved back in April, with the medical supposedly running out in March, but no problems besides it being shelved for 6 months or so at CSC or whatever hole it was stuck down for a while.

I received an RFE for the full medical again for my daughter last week. We filed back in August, 2006.

I have a copy of her original medical, but it doesn't matter now as, like I said, if they go by the 12 month rule, regardless of when filed, then hers has run out, which I think totally stinks. These people must just assume we all have money pouring out our rear ends and aren't everyday people who are unfortunate enough to have to go through the US Immigration process because we want to be with the one we love.

Onya USCIS, way to generate more headaches. At least we are doing the process legally, unlike, what it is 11,000,000 or so that haven't and they want to make it easy on them and create a whole new visa, don't reckon it is really fair do you???? GAWD!!

Points of clarification:

A medical exam in the USA by a Civil Surgeon is not required if the medical exam for the visa is less than 1 year old at the time adjustment of status is applied for. Unless the record of the visa medical exam has been lost and is not in the case file.

Not too many people have the visa medical exam forms to take to a Civil Surgeon. Maybe the vaccination form, but not the other forms.

You should read this thread - because they've been over a year since the medical now, and you too, may need to have another exam unless you can find a CS to transfer your info for you...

Yodrak, just to ease my mind a bit here because I'm starting to get worried, I had my medical exam done 5 months ago. We filed for AOS 2 months ago. So, there is only a 3 month gap between the exam and filing for AOS. I am okay, right? UNLESS they have lost my medical as well, right?

You understand correctly - you should be OK unless the DOS medical exam forms have gone missing.
