Documents for P3

Hello!

I have some questions regarding requested documents for P3.

1- Germany's Frankfurt Consulate (https://de.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/21/Instructions-for-IV-and-K-Visa-Applicants.pdf ) is asking for original and one copy of some documents (birth certificate etc). So I was wondering if those copies must be certified or not. Of course if I need a translation to English that will be certified, but what about the others which are originally in English or German?

2- My birth certificate is in Turkish, German, and French, but at the bottom of the page there is a section where you can find the equivalents of all words from the form, in many languages, including English. It is not the easiest to read document, but still they can understand it perfectly. Should I still have it translated?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

The copies don't need to be certified but you'll have to get it translated since all it says at the bottom are the explanations for the symbols. No translations of the actual topics there.

But everything is also written in German, just below Turkish and French, outside of the the symbols part.

Yea stupid me. I kinda ignored that. For Frankfurt everything in german or englisch is fine.

Though for the AOS you'll have to have it in englisch so why not getting this already done now.

Comply with the instructions in the P3 letter. Here is the quote from the P3 talking about what is required for document translations.

We accept documents in English or German. All documents not in English or German must be accompanied by an English translation. Translations must be certified by a competent and registered translator. Do not separate original and the copy. (NOTE: - Your original documents will be returned to you at the time of the formal visa interview with the consular officer.)

I have one more question about the P3 documents.

For affidavit of support part, should all documents be original? Or can we download some bank statements online, and print them?

Finally, can we get tax return transcripts (1040 and W2) online, or do we have to wait them to come by post?

thanks a lot! i really appreciate that :)

I am a big cheerleader for being in your sub-forum at this stage asking your questions. Your responses will be geared more toward the experiences of those who have gone before you and are there to help couples like yourself.

Go up to the blue ribbon, select forums, then scroll down 3/4 of the page and find your sub-forum. Begin asking questions of others who are going through the same embassy as you. Someone from Latvia, Spain or Syria is not going to know what you should do next because each embassy has different requirements.

On the main page that you land on you look up to the right and you'll see a button that says "start a new topic" or something to that. Choose it and you should be good to go.
