Personal note:  I'm finished with this infernal immigration process, but I remember the trauma of it clearly.  I sincerely hope for rapid progress in your case.  Even if I don't respond openly, I'm cheering loudly at your announcement of success.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Last week I received a letter from uscis where they scheduled me for an interview, which it is in two weeks. I don’t not apply for N400 because in the middle of my application I got divorce. Any suggestions? I’m a bit nervous but I’m not going crazy, I’m actually happy because that means this I751 journey is gonna be over in two weeks after waiting for a year and a half. Anyway, if anybody have some tips for me or any advices for the interview, I’ll appreciate it, and thanks in advance!

I had 2 friends who went through post divorce i751 interviews. Make sure to bring a lot of supporting documentation. Organize your supporting documentation, so that if anything asked of you, it’s easily accessible. Prepare your words, especially story of how you met your spouse and how it fell apart. Talk about how you tried to prevent divorce and why it didn’t work. Make your story personal, talk a lot, but choose your words carefully. Basically rehearse. Be calm, but likable. Dress business. You’ll be fine! Good luck!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Thank you, thank you!!!!!! I’m gonna be extremely prepared. Also thanks for the advice on what to wear, I was asking everybody what I should wear on that day. One question, do I have to bring info they already have? I sent them bank statements, our apartment leases, license drivers, health insurances, million pictures, and basically everything we could use as evidence. Should I re print those things?

Just to be safe, bring everything you can possibly bring. Especially bring originals. Once you are in the room, emphasize on the amount of papers you have, put it on your lap or something like this. Officers like to see prepared people. It shows that you care.

I just got scheduled for an N-400 interview in June. I applied for the N-400 in November 2018. The interview notice does not say anything about the I-751 or having my wife attend with me. Will the I-751 also be handled alongside the N-400 in this June Interview?

sent an inquiry about my case out of normal processing time, and got respond in the mail today about my i-751, says: "we are still reviewing  your case, we will mail you a notice when we make a decision"

You need to be more assertive now that your case is outside of the normal processing period. Contact your senators (Schumer and Gillibrand, if you still live in NY) and ask them for case assistance with USCIS. This isn't the time for routine inquiries.

I moved to Hawaii last year, and just went to get my passport stamp today, I asked that officer, she said usually case has been transferred takes longer to process, and my local office now is the field office, the I-751 EST processing time for all filed office is 23-45months, that's insane! But what can I do ?...

It's just been too long,  I just need an answer, approve me or deny me with a reason so that I can decide if I want to continue working on it or just go home, or set me an interview or something... I think now is too late for them to rfe right? because it will take another few months (90days for preparing and 60days for responding back?)

Still. Talk to your local senators. You are lucky to have two pro-immigrant ones in Hawaii (HIrono and Schatz). They have constituency services staff who have special access to Congressional liaisons at USCIS. This isn't time for DIY; otherwise your case may be lost in the bureaucracy for years.

Ok, yeah I think I need to do something about it instead of just sitting here and wait. Thank you so much for the advice Afrocraft😘
