Ok.

Once the GC has been approved , the person will be waiting for the GC to arrive. If it’s delayed, lost in the mail, or the person needs to travel urgently  they can get the stamp in their passport as temporary evidence of being an LPR. Thats why the line referring to  getting a stamp comes after the interview

Clear as mud ? 🤪

Thank you so much for explaining this to me. Yes, it makes total sense now! USCIS words things in such a confusing manner that it is very difficult for me to understand at times. :D

Oh, and I meant to add: I saw the I-551 on the immigration timeline page here on VisaJourney under the Adjustment of Status section of the timeline. Do people need the I-551 stamp after their Green Card interview?

It is the stamp placed in the passport of people entering the US on a spousal visa, as they already have LPR status.  It serves as the green card until the actual card is received in the mail several weeks later.

Oh, okay, Pardon my ignorance and thank you for clarifying this. I never knew that the Green Card was also called the I-551 card. I can't believe I never knew this, ahaha. :D

I thought maybe the officer incorrectly placed the wrong stamp in her passport...LOL.......anyway, this whole process is a learning experience......good luck....😁

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
