Experience Flying from Paris into Atlanta via Delta Airlines  with Extension Letter and GC this past weekend.

Hi guys just wanted to share my experience with CBP at Atlanta's Airport. I show the officers my 18 month extension letter, my two day old expired GC and my passport. He runs my information, makes me take picture and then makes me do fingerprints, he was having a hard time getting my fingerprints, then he asks for my boarding pass from Paris to Atlanta, runs more information through the computer and he says something to the effect 'its not letting him run through some of my information' and then he says "i see you have record, why were you arrested for' I tell him that it was a DWI back from 2006-he then does more stuff on the computer, grabs a see through folder, puts my documents in there and has someone walk me to secondary inspection. By this point I am already a nervous wreck.  They put me in a waiting area, while my folder is handed over to another CBP officer who sits at a counter. I am texting my husband and telling him to re-book our connection flight to Dallas because we might not make it on time or i don't know whats going to happen to me and i am panic mode. They call my name t counter, ask me how long i was in Spain for, and for what reason, and i state for vacation, 5 days only, they ask me if i have family over there, i say no, then they ask if i have anything to declare, alcohol, etc. I say no. They stamp my passport and hand my documents back to me. And that was it, was able to leave waiting area and get to my connection flight to Dallas. I must say I was left terrified and uneasy. I feel like the first CBP officer since he was having problems with my fingerprints and something on his end on the computer he didn't want to handle me as there was a long line of people trying to check in. I'm also not sure why he brought up when I was arrested. Not sure if I want to venture out of the country again while conditions are being removed. Thoughts anyone???

You were not arrested. They just sent you to secondary inspection because they needed more time for whatever reasons. It's no big deal. I've been asked to secondary inspection a couple time. There is no need to avoid travel because of this. That's crazy

I have been USC with no criminal record for decades and I was often given 2nd inspection :) after personal/business trips. It happened like every year until last year.

I had a hard time boarding a flight to Mexico and the airline presentative told me my name triggered something on their system. It caused like 10-15 mins delay as I was the last one to board.

I believe they were referring to their arrest in 2006, not thinking that secondary inspection meant they were arrested:

I wouldn't worry about it, and I wouldn't avoid going out of the country again.....
