2nd Day Medical

Hi guys!

I had my medical today and was told to go back tomorrow at 2:40PM... this is the first time I've heard about coming back that late. Most I've seen on here is 9AM or around that time. I even asked the guard if I could go earlier and he was surprised too that I was being asked to go back at that time but told me I could go at 1PM.

I have a feeling I will be for sputum :( Hopefully not but just wondering if the time is a sign for sputum as the result?

Thanks!

Manila is always 2 days.  Day two is vaccinations and results pickup primarily.  Tbe time is based on how busy they were.  The fact you were given the option to show early means you don't have a specific appointment which is a good thing

I am aware it is for two days but didn't expect to be asked to come that late. Seems like that is the time they are packing up because I left around 3pm today and employees were leaving and chairs were stacked. I am scared they're making me go there just to tell me I need to go back for 3 consecutive days for sputum collection :(

My fiancé was told to come back at 2 PM the next day, and got to leave around 6:30 PM because they were backed up. Cleared medical and vaccinations, still needs to get MMR, hopefully get that done tomorrow. Interview is on the 17th. Can still do interview without the MMR though.

They usually give you the results of your X-rays the next morning after reviewing them. Once they find something on your X-Ray that is abnormal that's when you will be selected for a smear test (giving sputum for 3 consecutive days) they don't collect the sputum samples until after the second day once you get your results. The bad news is if you are selected to give sputum samples you will incur at minimum a two month additional wait and you will have to cancel your interview. Let us know the out come, keep your head up!

Just trust the system and you will get through this. Everything they do is normal but not normal for you because you have never experienced. The process can be different for everyone especial in the Philippines where the rules change by the minute and sometimes they just throw out the rules and do what they want.

It is not unusual to come back at 2:00, you will find out if you go for vaccinations or ....

I’m not sure if I can ask this here but is there a way to bypass the sputum culture if you just do the 3 day consecutive test? My fiancé made her interview on the 28th of this month but was told at medical yesterday that she needed to do the sputum test and culture which can take up to two months to get results

No there is NO WAY to bypass, she must give three samples then if ANY one of those samples is positive she will have to undergo the six month treatment starting almost immediately otherwise she will have a two month wait to be sure she is TB free. I know it's hard to accept but that is how it is. I was devastated too.

Nope ..  CDC makes the rules, SLEC follows them.    Best you can do is hope for no phone calls from SLEC before the end of the 60 days.

4 vaccinations 😅 was supposed to be only 3 but they said flu vaccine came in this morning m. Just my luck hahaha! Finished at 4:30pm and waited another hour for the release of my docs. Can’t wait for my interview. Thank you everyone for your help. :) I appreciate it.
