First go over to the May 2019 NOA2 to NVC thread lots of good information there. Give it about 10 working days then call NVC, but before that send an inquiry  to them updating your email address and that of the beneficiary even if there were no changes to your email. Be sure to read the first post in the May thread.

You asked a question I answered, go to the thread and read the first post. If NVC does not have your email address how can they contact  you? Oh sorry thats not you that asked. You should already know the answer you've been around long enough.

I am asking why would you 'update' something that had no changes, because that is pointless, but whatever floats your boat!

It's really common sense even if your address did not change they might not have it on file!

What actually happens is you get an inquiry in the system that will generate a response from NVC as soon as a case number is assigned.   Much better than sitting daily on the phone

YMMV

when i updated the info with NVC there is no where to put the beneficiary email, only petitioner email, and the bottom there is a space to put an inquiry or a question.

My NOA2 was April 22 and I am not wasting my time on calling NVC at all. I figure my NOA2 was issued way ahead of schedule, I can be patient, but I can see why people get so excited.

you have not called nvc yet?

They respond to AskNVC website, but they do not respond to it promptly. About a week later in my experience. They do not actively notify you when NVC receives your case or assigns your case number even when you submit AskNVC inquiry. The reason why: When they have NO case, they cannot associate your e-mail/inquiry with it. When they DO have your case, they know your e-mail (from 129F) but they do not know you requested updates. They DO send you a formal looking e-mail when NVC ships your case out to the Embassies, in my experience they send that out regardless if you used AskNVC or not.

Calling them, and asking a single question "Hello my USCIS receipt number is WAC########, do you have my case, and if you do, what is my case number, thank you" in my experience is the only reliable way to know when your case number is assigned.  It used to take about 2 weeks from NOA2 until NVC assigned case. Noways from what I hear it might take longer. It is up to you to decide how patient or inpatient you want to be.
