I never filed these two, just AOS. Now I am thinking I did really good. Because, as I look here, there is no big difference in timeline. So I would get them within few weeks sooner. Also, there is fingerprints and namecheks again for each form, and different ones for EAD? So its about 500 $ for both forms for more mess.

I just god RFE and it says: You are ineligible for interim employment authorization... until 90 days after the missing initial evidence is received. Good I never filed EAD.

There's just one fingerprinting appointment for all these forms, and no background checks for EAD and AP. Interim employment authorization has very little to do with an actual EAD application, and it is obsolete anyways - as of October 2006, no more interim EAD's are being issued. A normal EAD tends to take about 90 days regardless of an RFE.

But you did great with saving money on EAD and AP - hopefully you AOS won't take long and you'll get your PR card real soon! :)

Filed AOS from F-1
Green Card approved on 01/04/07
Conditions removed 01/29/09

Citizenship Oath 08/23/12

There CAN be a separate appointment for EAD biometrics, however we do often see them fingerprinted at the same time; additionally there is no cost associated with EAD biometrics. There also is evidence by a few other members that background checks are a portion of the interim benefits as well and have been denied these benefits upon completion of the checks.

to the OP - good on you for making the right decision for YOU. Be lucky that either you are in a position not to have to worry about working asap, or satisfied with the hope your AOS does not take too long. In reality this is not the case for many couples, and paying $180 to give your spouse the right to work if needed to is a drop in the bucket of what they could be making.

This will all be a moot point when the new fees come out as there will be one fee for all three of these items in one application.

Yes there will. Officer in homeland security said to fill and do whatever asap, because prices will go up dramatically in nearest time.
