Did you track your mail?  How many days it took for them to send a receipt response after mail delivered?

I did not track my mail. I took it as a given that, I’ll get a receipt after a week or so. You might get it earlier, since your package was next day delivery.

Just a quick update.

Tuesday was the N-400 interview. Everything went very smoothly; despite some last minute intense anxiety. It ended up being a combo interview for the removal of conditions and application for citizenship. Everything was approved and the officer scheduled the oath ceremony for May 23rd, since my spouse and I are moving out of state at the end of June.

Prior to this, the last update on the I-751 was that it had been transferred to the NBC. The citizenship interview was scheduled with no indication as to if it would be a combo interview or not. The officer that conducted the interview stated that he was given the file at the last minute because the officer that was going to do the interview, was not able to do so for both the I-751 and the N-400. It is my understanding that the I-751 must be processed first, and so that is what triggered a joint interview for both applications even though they never updated the removal of conditions status.

Yes, we weren’t sure if they would want both of us to go in and be interviewed, but they allowed it; I’m guessing because of the pending I-751.

Thanks!

We applied for the I-751 on January 23, 2018 and for the N-400 (online) February 16, 2019. So from the date we applied for the N-400 to the date of the oath ceremony will be just a little over 3 months. It all processed much fast than anticipated. They originally gave us a completion date of January 2020.

As I mentioned before; there was no movement on the I-751 after the biometrics appointment in April of 2018. We got a notice on March 8th of this year that they had transferred the I-751 application to the NBCThey still haven’t updated the status on the new website since the biometrics and the last update on the old website for the I-751 says that it was transferred.

The experience at the Buffalo office was very good. Everyone encountered was extremely professional and nice.

Best of luck to you on the rest of your journey and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
