Does anyone have an idea of what to expect in an interview?

Our interview was a lot easier than I expected. We got called in together, and he asked for any new documents we had since we filed to fill in that 18+ month gap. Then we were asked a few basic questions - where does he work, how long has he worked there, do we have any pets, why did we move recently. After only about 5 questions he said he had asked enough and we’d hear from them soon if they needed any more information. When I got my card, it had the interview date listed as the approval day. We were surprised - I had read we would be separated and then each individually asked questions, like where in the bedroom is the first light switch, what type of flooring does our home have.... but no, nice and easy.

How long after the interview did you receive your green card?

We filed April 2018 and still nothing.  Our 18 month extension expires Dec 29th 2019.  When I try to get help they tell me we are still in the normal processing time.  I explained the issue with the I-797 expiring and they said to try again within 30 days of expiration.  I submitted an inquiry and they said they will respond by Dec 26th. lol  This is feeling pretty terrible at this point.

My extension also expires Dec 29th but I called USCIS to ask for an infopass appointment to get an extension. I went in yesterday and I was stamped with 1 year extension.

I feel hopeless with them now.

My extension letter will expire on Jan 07.

I will call again tomorrow to get my infopass schedule.

I file N400 and had my interview with my husband back in September 2019 and the officer told me the result will be within 2 months and I have heard nothing until now.

The USCIS for I-751 said I am still in normal processing time which is 21.5months last couple weeks and now increase to 22.5months

The USCIS for N-400 said I am still in normal processing time of 120 days from interview day (their post online on my case that my estimate completed time was 11/2019)

My lawyer is contacting their direct agency @USCIS about my case at this moment but other than that.. I wonder if any of them hear our voice of waiting for too long???

05/19/2016: Interview

07/07/2016: Approved I-485 + I-130

07/11/2016: Received 2-year Green Card

-----

04/17/2018: File I-751

04/19/2018: Delivered to California Services Center

05/29/2018: Received NOA

06/29/2018: Received 18-months extension letter

02/28/2019: Approved Fingerprint

08/16/2019: Case Transferred & New Office has Jurisdiction

-----

04/07/2019: Expecting to file N-400

04/11/2019: Filed N-400

04/12/2019: Received NOA

04/19/2019: Biometric Appointment Scheduled

05/07/2019: Completed Biometric

08/15/2019: Noticed of Interview Schedule

I applied in April 2018 too and I haven’t heard anything from them. I call them about twice every week to ask for an update but I keep hearing samething. “Still under normal processing time”. I’m sure we will eventually hear from them...

Same story for me too unfortunately. I filed in March 2018 from CSC and still waiting. I called them many times and i even had my congressman contact them but they always come up with the same old “ Within the normal processing time “ answer. They keep increasing the processing time as well. Processing time increased from 21.5 months to 22.5 months 2 weeks ago. I wonder if it will ever end.... while other folks are getting approved in 10 months ect how fair is that??? Only God knows. Let s just keep praying for our deliverance, it shall come to pass!

Today I went for the Infopass.

I asked the officer about my case since I heard he talked to few people before me about the process of I-751 and N-400.

I said he saw I did only the N-400 interview so still waiting for I-751.

I told him we did combo interview for both I-751 and N-400 at Naturalization Appointment.

The officer told me that currently for I-751 in California, waiting time is 19.5-22 months, and after that, they will assign our cases to field local officers which took up to 37 months total. So the process right now is 19.5-37 months total.

The officer check his system for my case and told me since my N-400 is submitted so it may push the I-751 a little faster than others and he said my case "not lost" ..lol.. , just waiting for review from Supervisor after an interview...

..

Hopefully he can make any note to make the supervisor review it faster... praying now.. =.= .. this process is driving me crazy.

When did you have your interview? Was your I-751 transferred to NBC ?
