Received the Card today in the Mail. This is finally over. Thanks for everyone’s support here.

When did they received your package? What office were you in?

Congrats!

Good morning. I woke up to a text and e-mail from USCIS that husband's card had been ordered and case was approved (apparently).

We originally sent in materials in April 2018 to CSC and marked as received May 23, 2018. We were first told they would use his previous biometrics and then got a letter to redo biometrics in May 2019. No other updates since then and no transfer from CSC. No N400 submitted.

Best of luck to everyone on this journey to get things wrapped up soon.

Update:

- Mailed out RFE package on 7/15, received on 7/16.

- Received text and email notification from USCIS on 7/30 at 11:15pm saying that NEW CARD IS BEING PRODUCED!!

image.png.a95aa62d28a4a44b8cf06e6466268471.png

Congrats! May I know what documents you sent in first, what they asked you to give, and what did you send? (basically the RFE letter lol)

Our original package included:

- i751 form

- my GC copy

- Joint leases of apartments we lived together since marriage

- Tax return of 2016

- 2 bank letters showing our joint account and me as an authorized user of my husband's credit card. (Not statements included)

- Joint mutual found statement (not listed as received doc in the RFE letter)

- Beneficiary Designations

- Pet adoption document showing both my husband and I are owner (not listed as received doc in the RFE letter)

- Utility bills with both our name on the account and current address

- Travel Itineraries

- Photos of our 2 wedding/receptions, one in my home country, one in the US

- Facebook print out of anything related to both of us since marriage. (not listed as received doc in the RFE letter)

- 2 affidavit letters, one from my MIL, one from my husband's uncle who live in the same city with us. We also use this uncle's house address as our mailing address.

RFE Letter requests:

- Children info if any (we don't have any children yet)

- Current lease in both names (we already submitted this in the original package)

- deeds and morgages in both names

- DL with current address

- bank account statements with transactions

- property, life, or health insurance doc

- additional fed and state tax return doc or W2 (we haven't done our 2017 tax before we submit the package)

- loan or credit card account statements

Our RFE package included:

- Original RFE letter

- Cover letter written and signed by my husband, stating what we are including in our package, and what we have submitted in the original package

- Both our DL with current address

- Letter from our auto insurance company stating we have been both insured under the same policy for the past 3 years

- Insurance ID cards for the past 3 years

- Renters insurance statement for the past 3 years

- Joint checking account statement with transactions for the past 3 years

- Credit card statement for the past 3 years

-  Evidence showing my husband and I are co-owner of our company (founded after we submitted the original package)

- Health and dental insurance showing we are under the same policy

- Joint tax return doc for 2017 and 2018

One thing I want to mention is, I did not know the existence of the Filing tips page on USCIS Websit (https://www.uscis.gov/forms-filing-tips). Unfortunately, my original docs are all organized in a 3 ring binder, and I highlighted all the key info on every single page, and I put all the colored tabs on the side of the document. I came across this web page later on and I cried for 2 days blaming myself for doing everything wrong. With my husband's support and comfort, I finally calmed down and accepted the fact that I'll receive an RFE in the future. Now thinking about my original package, I did miss some key info such as DL, bank statements, auto/renters insurance doc. After I finally got the RFE letter, I took my time to put together the package. When organizing the final doc folder, i went to staples and two hole punched all the pages on top, color tabbed them all at the bottom of the page, and put them into a legal sized folder with 2 hole fastener on top. I mailed the folder out in a USPS priority soft envelope. Packaged was received the next day and approved in a week and half.

Hope info above helps those who are dealing with RFEs!

Hello everyone , I’ve been following this forum since 2017. I’m an April filer at VSC. I always imagined myself writing this. But today it finally happened. My status changed to “ New Card being produced” today. My case number EAC181335XXX. This is my time line:

- I751 mailed : March 26, 2018

- NOA dated : April 10, 2018

- Biometrics done May 28, 2018

- Transferred to Texas : March 20, 2019

- NO RFE, No Interview

This forum has helped me so much through this unpleasant process. For those who are still waiting, please dont lose hope. It’s just a matter of time. Wish you guys all the best.

Finally, some progress. The new site has been stuck at “case received” the entire time and the old site never recognised my case number until today when it updated to “card ordered”.

CSC, WAC18195XXXX

- Mailed 4/27/18

- NOA 6/4/18

- Biometrics Waiver (Feb 2019)

- Biometrics completes 5/9/19

- Card Ordered 8/1/19

No interview (but was interviews during AOS).

No RFE.

Did NOT file N400 and won’t bother until the 5 year mark. We are over sending documents and justifying my marriage.

Of course until the the card is in my hand, I’m not at the finish line yet.

Good luck to those waiting!

I just got an approval today 8/1 and my card is being produced!! Thanks God! I just had my biometrics done yesterday, 7/31. Though they sent me a notice last June 2018 that they’ll gonna reuse my previous biometrics. After over 15 months of silence, the waiting is finally over!

I am seeing people who applied after me getting approved and I am really getting nervous.

I applied April 16 to VSC and transferred to Texas March 20. I see people around my number being approved.

What should I do?

Please help

Hi! Based on your dates - I approved a little before you and got transferred a little before you, so don’t be nervous!

While waiting i also was tracking numbers and noticed noticed that some people were 20-25 numbers ahead of me with similar timelines and they got approved before me.

Its okay! USCIS is a mess. I am sure that you will get an approval email/status update any time now!

Don't lose patience!

Yeah I lost faith in the ‘new’ site a long time ago. For me - only the old one ever worked. Ideally they would invest all the time into actually APPROVING cases and not updating two databases because it’s a waste of time. But wait.. that’s USCIS so I’m not surprised!

Why 5 year mark specifically? Lol just curious. I’m also thinking when to apply for N400

Absolutely not 😊

We got a generic RFE basically to proof that our marriage is legit. I will say, we have 30 years in age difference which is why I initially already sent in a bunch of evidence, knowing that this might be happening.

This is what I’ve sent in.

I wrote a letter explaining our relationship.

So did my husband.

4 Affidavits (Sister in Law, My brother, two Friends)

Drivers Licenses of both of us

Travel documentation (we traveled quiet a bit) with Photos and activities we booked

Pictures of our life together month to month for 5 years of relationship (4 years of marriage)

Facebook Post/Photos Screenshots

Car Insurances in Our Name

Joint Health Insurance

Joint Cell Phone Plans

Our Rental Agreement for the House we’ve lived in for 4 years. Signed by both of us

Joint Tax Returns for 4 Years

Joint Car Loan

Bank Statements showing my monthly transfer the money for Rent/Car to his account

That what we sent.

Thanks so much for this. Very helpful. My marriage also has a big age gap, in your letter, was it very detailed, like explaining how you met and all of that? I wanna have an idea on how my husband will go about writing his.

Thank you Lana,  I am trying to stay positive and hoping for the best. :)

Alcione, I hope we get news soon! same for me, no requirements of evidence but also not approval. I hope that our cases are on someone's desk who is on vacation and we will get approved soon.

Good luck for you!!!!

Only the new one worked for me... but stayed at case received (still says that).

Im not entirely sure I want to do citizenship at all, plus less paperwork in 5 years. So I may as well wait and decide later.
