Hello everyone! After waiting over a year in AP, my husband has finally received his visa! Hamdullah! James Hacking at Hacking Law Practice has been incredible. If you guys have been waiting over a year in AP, I highly recommend filing a lawsuit. This has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. If you guys are interested, I suggest setting up a phone/Skype meeting first and then see if you want to proceed with the lawsuit. My total for the lawsuit for my case was $3100 flat fee. They also do payment plans. I am relieved and so happy to say that this nightmare has finally come to an end. Thank you VJ and friends for all your help! ❤️❤️❤️ If you guys have any questions, I still get notifications on my email from VJ. I’m happy to help as much as I can.

Timeline for lawsuit

October 31st, 2019- filed WOM lawsuit

November 25th, 2019- Husband scheduled to retake oath/fingerprints and was asked to redo medical, update police records

December 13th, 2019- Husband’s second “interview” but all he did was turn in updated documents and took his oath. After 15 mins of being in the consulate, the officer gave him a piece of paper confirming his visa approval.

December 18th- Case status changed to “ISSUED”.

January 8th- Visa on hand! Husband could’ve gotten it earlier but the consulate said he didn’t pick up his passport at the location selected so they sent it back to the consulate. Truth is, they never reached out through text or phone like they said they would to tell him that his passport was at the drop off location.

Alhumdelilah! Congratulations to you both. I am so happy to hear of your success and another success in the books for Jim dealing with the Casa Consulate.  There is hope and we should not give up.

It was on 7th Jan.

My application got approved and now I am waiting for the status to change to issued and to get back my passport.

My recommendation to anyone who is going to embassy for fingerprints and oath, please make sure your DS260 is filled out and submitted. They almost had to send me back. Also, keep your tracking id and invoice id written on a paper with you. And if you have enabled 2 factor authentication for your emails, disable them before going in or use backup codes. This is in case you need something from your emails cloud etc.

Feel free to ask me any questions, I'll post more details once I get my passport back.

Congrats! If u don’t mind me asking what exactly happened during the reoath and finger print? Also my husband submitted updated DS260 online when we were asked to. What tracking and invoice Id are u referring to? Did the embassy already have your passport and now your waiting for them to send it back with the visa?

Mg husband will be taking his new passport with him as his old one was expired.

Thank u for your help

Thank u for your help

It was a brief interview before which they make you take the oath and verify fingerprints. And then after asking a few questions they told me that my Visa is approved.

I was talking about the case id used to login to ceac but if you already submitted ds260 then he shouldn't have a problem.

My passport was already with them. And today my visa got issued. Hopefully will get the passport in a couple of days.

Hope that helps.

They only asked him if he was still married and he said yes, of course lol and he needed an updated police and court record, latest IRS TAX returns, new medical exam, and new photos. When they contact you, they will give you a list of things to bring. So, if you need to bring anything else, they will put it on the list.

Thank you so much!! I wish you all the best in your future. The casa consulate is VERY complicated. I think I would be waiting another year or longer if I didn’t hire Jim.

Hello, I'm a J-1 petitioner for a semester in a Maryland University.

I got the DS-5535 on a email the day after my interview (December the 19th)

As others I read, I was granted the visa and given a white slip that said I'd get it in 4 to 6 days.

However, 28 days have passed and I don't have anything yet, I called, made sure they receive the documents and emailed them with the same usual responses.

My flight was going to take departure next Friday (January the 17th), unless I get the "Issued" status by this evening I won't be able to take it.

They kept my passport with them, and I wonder how long can they keep it without making the firm decision of stamping it? Also, what made they think I'm a threat to make me send them the DS-5535?

I even know the name of the Vice-consul who is doing my visa process since he signed and stamped his name on my DS-2019.

What do you think are the estimate time I'll have to wait more for getting my passport with the visa?

Congratulations @Ousaw!!!

I have just been asked for my new medical, police certificates, passport, new photos and an 'updated DS-260'

I see you were inquiring on how to update your DS-260 a while back. Can you or anyone here share how to update it? Am not sure if the new form has significant changes but I assume we can update that ourselves without our lawyer?  He's asking for more $$ to fill the form (out of which most of it will be the same information). Main changes that have occurred since re-oath interview is a new passport and new-born.

Would appreciate any help on this. Thank you.
