Wowww .. Congratulations 👍

I used to see your posts usually and its been a very long AP for your son. I am really glad to see the fruitful result that he got his visa.

I am still waiting for my visa since my interview on November 14, 2018 and we got the DS-5535 on Jan 29, 2019.

Please do keep us in your prayers.

In the meantime enjoy your time in USA 😍

Hi mira3 well in my case last week they update my case and sent my passport coz passport left only 4 months to complete flat, well same thing what you asking had in my mind and thought of making new so without wasting time can send new once embassy ask for it. When did your husband had his interview and did he fill questionnaire Ds5535 and yes passport office do ask for expired passport you have to have with you when you go for renewal, but if you know someone in passport office it's not a big deal, but you should have copy of your passport.

Thank u for the reply. My husband has his interview November 6,2018 and they kept his passport and week later sent him the DS5535. Since then case has updated few times on its own and lately it updates only when I inquire. And currently even after inquiry it has not updated.

Munazza Many congratulations for your son visa, I know how much you worried about him that's great news. Well as you know I had interview in April 2019 and given Ds5535 recently my case status updated on 11 and 13 September and they ask me to send valid new passport as old one expired and mail says once you submit inform us so we can schedule you for fingerprint and Oath just want to ask what happened when. Your son went for fingerprint and Oath any question they asked or just has to appear before official takes fingerprints first time.

Now whenever case update its own thats mean your background checks are completed and Advisory opinion has back to post, they will only update once its completed like they asked me to send valid passport to move case forward. Hopefully it will over soon.

When my husband got the email from the embassy asking for updated medical and passport photos they also said to go online to update his ds-260 since it was first done before his first interview. Most definitely after sending in the ds-5535 AND the updated ds-5535 they requested after the first one.

Did they never notify you or your husband about updating the form?

Hopefully this is a good sign for your hubby!

My husband never received an email to update medical or to update the DS 260 but now the application appears as incomplete and I don’t know what to do. There hasn’t been anything to update. Should we send it anyways?

Please, does anyone here speak Arabic/Darija (Moroccan Arabic) ? My husband still doesn’t understand what the process is for DS-5535 and believe me, I have told him EVERYTHING and have read every page on this forum from the beginning. He thinks that there is a magical number that we can call and that we can ask a superior what’s going on and that they will help us instantly. It is frustrating when petitioners I guess you can say “accept” the situation more than the recipient. Recipients are just sitting ducks in the dark. But what they don’t understand is that all the information we know is what it is. I am starting to feel like a punching bag.

PLEASE, can anyone explain this to my husband or know anyone who understands how this process is? He’s asking if I could search for someone who can explain to him in better detail in Arabic or darija since I have explained everything in English but he doesn’t seem to understand.

Well I am wondering if he understands English well then what's the problem this is so simple it's just a form and it's completely about applicant simply he need to answer of each question asked in form its not more than an hour work, but I am so sorry I can't speak Arabic I think you should come to Facebook and join page (Administrative process 221g) I have seen most of the people are Arabic on this page or one more thing if any of your husband friend have better understanding can do this.

The best option is tell your husband to mail you same form and you can do on his behalf stay online with him while filling Information so he can assist you about him and his siblings

Every applicant passes one year of his ds260 need to update if nothing has change during year like your address, number etc etc leave it like this and submit again and seems your husband AP has finished that's why they ask for fresh medical.

It's hard for them to understand. Everyone who goes through AP for an extended time thinks they are being targeted. Just keep telling him since the changes of immigration that took place about 2 years ago, EVERYONE is in AP for some time.

Majority of those who aren't are usually from a country that is allies with the US. With all the immigrant visas that are being requested, it has really backlogged the back ground and security checks. Also, being an Islamic country, there are lengthy name checks. My husband was in AP for a year then we got an email requesting a 2nd interview with me in attendance. Luckily, I had a trip planned to see him within a few months of the email so I was able to get an appointment for us. It was brutal. Most definitely a Stokes Interview. They separated us and tried to make me feel like he was using me for fraud. While one was doing that to me, another CO was trying to say I was using him too!!!! I left out of there ready to rip someone's head off and spit down their neck. 3 months later I still haven't heard any news with the embassy so I ended up getting my congressman's liason involved. Sure enough, we get an email requesting him to redo his medical exam, get new passport photos and resubmit the DS-260. He made a new appointment and turned in everything along with his passport. He will be arriving on October 10th. Its been a long and grueling 3 years, but finally he will be here AND he will have his 10 year greencard!!!!

Best wishes and stay strong!

Thank you SO much for this. This is so encouraging. He understands that we have to wait but he’s frustrated and he just wants someone to relate to. I am filing everything on his behalf so he doesn’t get it like I do which is completely understandable. But I found a few people that he could talk to and he has come to terms with everything.

I have been seeing your posts for a while and I was so happy to hear that your husband got approved!! Many congratulations and thank you for still coming on here and reading this even though your husband’s case is resolved. I wish you guys all the happiness!!! I will stay strong and not give up. Thanks a ton!!

I think you misunderstand. We have already filled out the DS5535 form. And I filed it on his behalf so he didn’t have to do it. I needed someone to explain to him in detail about why we were given this form and what we can do about it. He just wanted to understand everything and talk to someone else in his language about this. He wanted to relate to someone. His English is great and we have no problem communicating. But when it comes to official documents, he won’t understand everything because he is not the one filling out the paperwork and doesn’t understand the full process. That is why he doesn’t understand why the wait is so long and why we are stuck in this process. But thank you for helping. I have found a few people he could speak to about this now :)

I am so sorry, this AP and Ds5535 making life difficult for people it's so frustrating and no one knows when this going to over they never keeps applicant on loop, anyways that's good if you found someone to explain him better. Good luck.
