Guys to file a writ of Mandamus 6 months in AP is enough. You just have to show the judge you tried everything from self inquiries to congress/senator inquiries. 6 months is plenty!

At your own risk. That's so not recommended. The AP could actually be ongoing and they're not delaying anything for no reason.

It is when things are taking more time out of the ordinary that you will have the writ of mandamus work for you!!

It has to be a period of time longer than the usual. If you look up the longest AP could take 6 months. In some countries they actually send people to ask around and investigate about the person. So yeah a year is the cutoff and longer is better for the case to workout itself in your favor.

No, I'm gonna come to Fairfax, VA.

Like I said you can call her office and have them schedule you that 30 mins free call. You let her know what's going on and what does she think.

Best of luck yall.

Thanks again. Please keep us updated. Best of luck.

So if waiting 1 year and a half of AP isn’t enough???

Have you been waiting 1 year and a half?

the waiting time for AP is ridiculous. Sometimes I feel they have no regard to families that want to be together... my husband has been on AP for 15 months

My husband has been in AP 18 months, going on 19 months in 6 days, all these months we have only have gotten 2 verbal responses from the embassy telling us he is still in admin processing, the dates on ceac only change whenever we inquire so because we wanted to hear from them via email to verbally give us an update, on august 27th we reached out to a number the Islamabad American Express gave my husband to call in case we want visa updates. He called that number and the girl told him she would put in an inquiry thru to the Islamabad embassy. A week went by and on september 4th U.S travel docs emailed us back the embassy's verbal response which was what I have attatched as a screenshot. I can't tell if this is positive or negative. Normally if it was under admin processing they could easily just say its still under AP but they said this instead which makes it confusing and makes me think maybe they plan on revoking. Any thoughts? The ceac date also updated as soon as I received that email.

Also I dont know if this is true or not or if it even applies to all embassies, but my husband has a friend who's cousin works in the U.S Embassy in Saudi Arabia and he said that if someone doesn't get approved they waste no time in telling them they are denied. I thought I'd share this to provide some people hope cuz it helped me a little thinking if it was to be denied it would have been already. But again I dont know if this is completely true

I saw an old lady who took it...you basically renew the oath just with the documents. Nothing to worry about and yes hopefully you're done with AP!!! Yay

Good news is that, It means your AP is over, which you can also confirm from your status through / replaced with or. it may still takes time, around 2 months. Embassy takes around 6 weeks to process your updated documents and to complete final review (you will see around 3 updates to your case after submitting to get another email with appointment.)

when was your interview? Did they ask for updated medical? Since you are not submitting medical it may takes less time.

Oath and fingerprints is normal as they have to take oath along with updaed ds260

rhis is all based on my and 3, 4 other members recent experience.

Yeah status is still same AP with / have to submit fresh passport and don't know about remedical they will require or not but I know my medical has expired last week and yes they mentioned in mail once passport submitted then they will schedule for fingerprints as per my understanding after oath they approve but not sure.
