I heard the wait in AP for countries like Afghanistan is 3-4 years.  I am wondering if I should cancel the K1 and get married? Does anyone know what process is faster?

Well I’m married and my husband is still in AP 14 months.... when we started this process we seeked  advice from a lawyer and we were told it’s best to apply for a I 130. That the process is faster... Idk but we are still waiting. We started the process in 2017

It won't be faster, as the security/background checks are the same regardless of visa type.

10 months in AP, CR-1 Visa. Case at Casablanca, Morocco. Will be 12 months in October. Hoping for a miracle.

Anyone else has news from Morocco? I feel like I’m the only one with a case in Morocco.

Same here, we were married 6 years when we applied for my husbands i130 (both me and our daughter are us citizens), we’ve been stuck in AP for almost 15 months now. No updates since July 2018 unless we inquire about the case. I would just like to know what time frame we should expect,  we at least deserve that. So far my husband has missed our daughters first 2 years of school and is refused a travel visa to come visit us.

Sadly they don’t care what has been missed. Stay strong to your convictions and you will get it. I know when I went for the stokes interview they tried to tear us down. They threw so many crazy things at me trying to break me down. I’m talking about straight bold faced lies. Also the officers played good cop bad cop with me. Making statements about my husband that I knew were lies. Stay strong. If it’s true and you have no doubts you will make it through. I promise.

I feel like I’m the only one with a case in Kabul... sucks that they play with peoples lives like this. Other countries get their visa sooner and we are left in the black hole aka AP

What year did you apply for the I 130? I’m sorry that he had to miss your daughters first 2 years... but unfortunately they don’t care. I wish I knew a time frame as well. At least you can fly to Egypt and see your husband... I can’t fly to my husband’s home country because of safety concerns. I just wish to know when they will start to issue visas, most of us have been waiting over 12 months 😩

My husband was in AP for almost a year to the day before they asked for me to be at a 2nd interview in Madrid. After the 2nd interview, there were no updates until I got hold of my congressman at the end of April of this year. My husband was asked to renew his medical, update his DS-261 application, and resubmit his passport. So total AP before he got his visa was 18 months.

When we went in for the 2nd interview, they separated us and I had 2 COs who would alternate coming in and questioning me. The first officer was actually pretty nice but said really awful and mean things about Pakistanis in general. The 2nd officer was down right rude and would not sit down to talk to me, she stood over me and told me I was flat out lying about our relationship. It took a lot for me not to get down right nasty with her. I really had to bite my tongue and spoke straight forward. I think she knew she was pushing my buttons and I am sure that is what they are trained to do. Once I came out of the of the room back to my husband, he said he could hear me speaking in there and he was worried I was going to come unglued on that little girl (which she was extremely young and small), Yes I was extremely passionate with my responses. I don't take lightly to someone saying I was lying when in truth I was not.

We have been in AP, IR1 for 25 months through Morocco. No one in Casa will come to the phone when we call. The operator hangs up on us, throws us in some random person’s voice mail, or transfers to a phone that rings for at least 4 minutes until finally the ringing just stops. Even when we call back and tell the operator we want a human she does the same thing.  When I emailed for a request to status they came back with some nonsense about it being at USCIS still but my husband had his interview in Casa already in July of 2017 and CEAC says still in AP through Casa.  Also, our file didn’t even show it was accessed after getting this strange response so either they are just handing out canned responses now or they looked in the wrong persons file. Our Senator has not responded to the last four inquiries for follow up so I’m at my wits end.   I feel ya. I am so angry that this is allowed to happen.  Casa is hard.  I just do my best to stay positive that he will be home very soon. Inshallah. I hope the same for you and everyone here.

Oh my goodness. Your story breaks my heart. I swear I would sue if I could afford it. Casa makes it impossible for us to communicate with them. This is beyond ridiculous. I get so angry when I think about it. I am positive most of the time but sometimes, just sometimes I have moments where I get so angry and depressed. I honestly feel like at this rate, my husband and I will also be waiting for a very long time.

Thank you so much for responding. I wish you all the best. Please keep us updated if you have any good news. I pray you will be with your husband soon inshallah❤️ Keep the positive attitude and don’t let them break you.
