They will give a reason and yes it can be rejected.   I know one person personally who's case was returned to USCIS after a Writ a few years ago.  I have met two on facebook who recently filed Writs and got approvals.  The one lady recommended her lawyer who has been quoting $6000 to file it.  At this point I don't have enough data to say how many are denied vs approved and for that price I'm not sure I want to risk it at the moment.

My lawyer quoted us on $3500.00 but it’s still risky... so we are waiting and praying for the visa

For Senators try these:

https://www.harris.senate.gov/contact/email

https://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=immigration-casework

Fill out the request forms and they will get back to you.

Congressman is a little tricky you have to know which one works for your district.  Once you find out you can contact them the same way.  Someone here from California maybe  able to shed some light on it.  I know with mine I contacted the what I thought was my local representative but they forwarded my case to another congressman in Harrisburg.

Been on AP 221g in lebanon since Feb 2019 with 0 updates since interview date!

I've inquired multiple times. Answer: "We don't know when your case will complete. We understand your frustration."

fkin BS. Why not take a single look at my case since you understand my frustration?

Should I inquire daily and bug them or it's a bad idea? B1/B2 Visa

My understanding is that the Department of Homeland Security and many other agencies, etc. are the ones performing the extra vetting/background checks. The embassy needs to wait until those other agencies have completed their investigations in order to pick back up with processing our visas.

My fiancé and I have been sending an email once every 30 days or so to our embassy asking for a status update,  even though the only thing they can ever answer back with is to tell you it's still in AP - we've been in AP for 9 months now, and many more on here for have been for upwards of 1 to even 2+ years.

It stinks, but the only thing anyone can really do is just have patience.

I-129F Sent: 12/29/17

Packet 3 Received: 8/13/18

*Visitor's visa interview: December 2016, called back by embassy for second interview on same visa application in January 2019 - visitor's visa finally issued May 2019.

*Fiance visa placed in administrative processing September 2018.

Not a good idea, imo. You'll only be wasting your time doing so. AP has no definitive end and it will stay open as long as they need it (for background checks, reviews, etc). I'll tell you what, though, the embassy has no problems telling people no on the spot for B1/B2 visas so if you got AP it's certainly not always a bad thing. Just let it run it's course and touch base with them every few weeks or so (though they may not respond). If you read back there are a few other Lebanese appliers on this thread also waiting out their AP from 2018.

I wish you the best of luck and I hope you get your visa soon.

Hey guys! An update on everything. Not too long ago I asked everyone here how to request for my husband’s passport back. Everyone says to inquire through email. I did so, and the Casablanca Consulate never got back back to me. So, I went to Morocco, made an appointment for U.S. services (because I didn’t know how else to get my husband’s passport back). At first, they almost refused to help us since they said we couldn’t make an appointment to get his passport back and that the only thing we can do is email. But I got upset and refused to leave without his passport. We waited for a few hours, but eventually they gave it to us but we had to wait outside. They said this will not effect our case and that we can travel even while the case is still in AP with Ds5535.

Has anyone been having trouble checking their IV status? I just tried checking today, and the website says error or the server isn’t connecting.
