Hi all,

I'm just curious, my interview is coming up in a few weeks. Has anybody here been asked to recite or sing the star spangled banner or the pledge of allegiance? I heard from a friend of mine that he was asked to recite a few lines.

Anybody here experienced the same thing? I'm a little bit worried because the Star Spangled Banner is kinda long to memorize :clock:

Oh my gosh, no way. I was never asked that and I haven't heard of anybody who's said that. As far as I know, they'll ask you a few of the civics questions, ask you to write a sentence in English and you're done.

10/01/09 - Received 10 year green card

U.S. Citizenship

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview

You do that during the actual Oath ceremony. You will be given a pamphlet with all the words. Then you and 500 others all at the same time attempt to (at the same time) say it. It's quite funny when 1/2 the people stumble on an english word and everyone then is saying it out of rythem. I think a lot just whispered or mouthed it. So no memorization at all and it's a lot of fun during the oath ceremony...

Nov - Received my TN-1 to be authorized to work in the US

Nov - Moved to US

1998-2001

Recieved 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th TN

2002

May - Met future wife at arts fest

Nov - Recieved 6th TN

2003

Nov - Recieved 7th TN

Jul - Our Wedding

Aug - Filed for AOS

Sep - Recieved EAD

Sep - Recieved Advanced Parole

2004

Jan - Interview, accepted for Green Card

Feb - Green Card Arrived in mail

2005

Oct - I-751 sent off

2006

Jan - 10 year Green Card accepted

Mar - 10 year Green Card arrived

Oct - Filed N-400 for Naturalization

Nov - Biometrics done

Nov - Just recieved Naturalization Interview date for Jan.

2007

Jan - Naturalization Interview Completed

Feb - Oath Letter recieved

Feb - Oath Ceremony

Feb 21 - Finally a US CITIZEN (yay)

Phew...What a relief! Singing it is one thing but memorizing the whole thing is quite another. Thank you both for your time..
