Hmmm...I guess I just thought that arguing with the USCIS was pointless. Sorry for giving out bad advice.

I do know that calling one's senator or congressperson does help. Hopefully the OP will decide to follow your advice Reba.

Not bad advice, just a more conservative/cautious opinion. Both are good options, it just depends on the level of risk and effort you're willing to accept.

Hey I have some good news that I wanted to share so that hopefully others will benefit. I contacted my congressperson who contacted the National Benefits Center and they found my husband's medical. According to the congressman's office, there are two files, a temporary and a main file, and my husbands medical report was in the other one

We got an email today from the USCIS that our case is back in processing.

So if anyone else gets this RFE contact your congressperson. I would not even waste your time with infopass. Our case was back to processing literally 1 week after I called the office, and 1.5 weeks after the infopass. Plus we saved a lot of money on another medical

I'm sure she realises a new medical isn't needed but to satisfy the RFE sent by the USCIS it looks as though they will have to do a new medical. You can't argue with the USCIS...you just do what they ask.

Why not argue? I did, and won. No way was I going to have another medical exam just because they can't hold onto their files

Call your Senator and or Congress person. You have a few weeks to reply to the RFE, in the meantime, contact the panel physician in Spain and find out if you can get a copy of the exam from January.

Just curious, but who did you argue with and how did you win? After readking about all these lost medicals, I'm starting to freak out. I don't feel like getting another one done. I felt violated the last time.

Wow. i am glad to hear that you got it all worked out! OMG, I would have been so pissed off but Im glad it's all good for you now. If this is happening frequently, perhaps people should start complaining to the Ombudsman. This is ridiculous that they are just losing/misplacing these files like that and expect people to get new medicals. I mean, they know you indeed had one done or you wouldn't be here in the first place. Really sad.

We just got the same request but we never sent a I-693A and was never asked for one. Do we have to do that too?

It definitely should NOT be happening this frequently. Ugh. It's very unprofessional. And I find it strange that they ask us to do a whole new one when they know what we came in with was acceptable for our entry. lol. Sad.
