Mogi I see from your time line you have just filled, so I would hold off on the ARCO until closer to NOA2 is issued otherwise you run the risk of your ARCO expiring, although the ARCO itself has no expiration date the USCIS request specifically that it be within 6 months of going for your medical.

Great advice! Will do.

Do you know when Knightsbridge emails the instructions after booking the medical? We booked our medical yesterday and haven't received anything as of yet.

The ACRO is valid for 12 months, but I always like to have my documents within the most recent 6 months (I got my ACRO Late december), February was the medical date

Just to clarify on this again the ACRO has no validity period in itself

"Length of time for which a certificate is valid
There is no set period of time for which the Police Certificate is considered to be valid.
Embassies, High Commissions, consulates or other authorities will usually require you to produce a Police Certificate which has been issued less than six months before your visa interview or travel date.

Some countries will only accept a Police Certificate which is less than one month old. It is your responsibility to check with the relevant authority before making an application."

as per the official site https://www.acro.police.uk/Police_Certificates_FAQs.aspx

For the interview itself at the embassy it states as per the link here :-

https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/required-documents/

Under the police certificate tab for the United Kingdom

"If you have resided in the United Kingdom for 6 months or more since the age of 16, you are required to obtain a police certificate from the ACPO Criminal Records Office (ACRO).  Further information is available from their website at www.acro.police.uk.

Note: UK police certificates are valid for 12 months only.  Failure to present all necessary and valid police certificates at the time of the interview will incur significant delays to your application"

Which matches up with what Luke is saying.

However for the medical the actually states they want it within 6 month of issue as per this link :- https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/medical-examination/

Under the required documents it states specifically

"For applicants aged 16 and over, a UK police certificate (known as an ACRO) issued within the past 6 months"

So again just be wary of applying for it too soon as it may not be valid when you come to a really use it 😆

Thank you! Knew there was a 6 month reason somewhere! :)

You can only schedule your medical after you have received your  NOA2 (you can track the status of your case here with USCIS https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) and your case has been transferred to the NVC.  Once the NVC has it you can call them after roughly 2 week, maybe a little more and pester them for your new case number which will begin LND, as your embassy will be London. They can be reached on 1-603-334-0700.  Once you have the LND ref this is the point in the process you are able to book and carry out your medical.

The best time to call is right at opening from what I have read in here. Once you receive your LND case number you then use this website to track your case https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV  to see your visas progress status.

Good luck

So, it's okay to proceed with scheduling the medical exam even if we haven't received the packet? Is it also okay to then schedule the interview?

If you have called up the NVC and have your LND reference number then you can procceed

As per what @Wuozopo stated in page 1 of this very thread

"

If you get in the system, then you're "allowed". Otherwise it would say "case not found" or something like that.

London's set up is based on assuming a beneficiary will not know what to do next in the process until they receive their letter of instruction from the embassy saying-- we have your approved petition so you may apply for a visa now. And they tell the beneficiary the instructions are found on their website https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/

That's only way many people know what to do next. Noteverybody is on visa journey picking up tips and tricks.

@ConnorSYes, thank you I did read page 1. However, with something so important I don't want to take chances or make incorrect assumptions. Thank you for confirming!:)

I would offer that rushing in before your ducks are in a row is the mistake many make. If you haven't read those K1 instructions from the embassy and prepared everything you will need, then hold off. Do you have your shots, police certificate, medical summary in hand before you make the medical appointment? Do you have the proper birth certificate, passport with six months remaining, affidavit of support in hand before picking an interview?  If this is so important, as you say, then prepare meticulously instead of rushing and tripping.

In our case, the embassy emailed us after the case was transferred. The embassy told us to submit the DS-160 first, then have the medical and gather required documents (including police certs).

Once we gathered the police certs (the long pole), and had then translated, that was when we scheduled the medical.

Once we had the sealed envelope from medical, the embassy entertainer interview appointment requests.

Myanmar is not London.  Please avoid offering inapplicable advice.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The reply from user Mike E.

His country is  Myanmar and he gave you replies describing procedures for the consulate in Rangoon. It's not the same as London so the Mod said don't offer advice in the U.K. forum unless it's about a London procedure. Most everything he said is not accurate for London.
