Hi everyone,

I haven't been waiting long at all for my EAD, I did my biometrics less than a month ago, but I was wondering how long it took you to get your EAD from that appointment.
I have been volunteering but I just can't wait to be busy with an actual job and start contributing to the expenses for our little family!

Thanks and have a good day!

Right now you're looking at 5 to 7 months from application if you were a K1 AOSer and your case is at the NBC.

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of.

If you get a job offer letter you can call USCIS and request an expedite. Not a guarantee but you can try.

I have something in the works for the company I'm volunteering for, but I don't know if they're ready to make an offer, and I'm scared to go for interviews!

Just understand that "volunteering " is not automatically not considered working.

Going to a job interview is ok.

YMMV

Ours was exactly 100 days from biometrics to notification of approval for combo card.  We feel lucky that it was so quick, given that our LFO is one of the slowest in the country right now for scheduling GC interviews.

Us too... And I thought I would have my EAD within 90 days of sending in the papers... Must have completely misread... I have my interview 4 months after sending in all the papers... Maybe the EAD and travel papers are on their way...

Now we cannot even volunteer?

btw, Anna. I filed for AoS in December (NOA1: 12/10, Biometrics: 12/31). Still no EAD/AP. It has been more than 5 months now. Some are lucky and got it before the 5 months, but the majority at least wait 5 months.
