My fiancee requested a police report from the Thai police almost a month ago and the report still has NOT been prepared. They said it would be available on May 29, but it isn't! Her interview is on Monday...without the police report the interview will have to be re-scheduled.

Needless to say we are really stressed and worried right now...

Please cross your fingers for us!

Will your Embassy approve conditional upon receiving the certificate? I have seen some people here proceed with their interviews and the Embassy will fully approve once they get the document . . . might be worth a phone call?

1-23-07 NOA1 Notice Date

1-26-07 NOA1 arrives in the post

4-25-07 Touched!

4-26-07 Touched again!

5-3-07 NOA2!!! Two approval emails received at 11:36am

5-10-07 Arrived at NVC/5-14-07 Left NVC - London-bound!

5-17-07??? London receives?

5-20-07 Packet 3 mailed

5-26-07 Packet 3 received

5-29-07 Packet 3 returned, few days later than planned due to bank holiday weekend

6-06-07 Medical in London (called to schedule on May 29)

6-11-07 "Medical in file" at Embassy

6-14-07 Resent packet 3 to Embassy after hearing nothing about first try

6-22-07 DOS says "applicant now eligible for interview," ie: they enter p3 into their system

6-25-07 DOS says interview date is August 21

6-28-07 Help from our congressional representative gives us new interview date: July 6

7-06-07 Interview at 9:00 am at the London Embassy - Approved.

7-16-07 Visa delivered after 'security checks' completed

I-129F approved in 111 days; Interview 174 days from filing

All phone calls to the US embassy in Thailand refer the caller to the embassy website.

My fiancee will still go to the interview even without the police report. She'll ask what her options are at that time. That's all that I can really think of...

I hope the cops come through for her/us on Friday. She's just going to sit in the office until they give it to her!

My fiance went to the Ukrainian embassy back in March to request his police report from Ukraine, paid about $50 upfront for it and they told him it might take about 8-12 months to get it. After he paid for it, the lady kindly told him that there is a law office around the corner and the lawyer who's there does direct business with ukraine and he might do it much faster. My fiance went there and the lawyer got him his Ukrainian police report within 2 weeks. He did an outstanding job of translating everything and notorizing it and it's very very professional and it all costed $350. i can't imagine this job being done any more professionally than it is. It's already been over 2 months to the ukrainian embasy since he went there and no one still called him to pick it up ( not that we need it, but still)

Now my fiance went to the Israeli police to get his police report and they told him it might take about ONE month for the embassy to get it and our interview is in 2 weeks. I emailed the embassy and they said that as long as the interview will be OK, he will have to leave his passport and as soon as they will receive his police report from the police station and everything will be OK in there, they will stamp the passport and send it back to him.

i am not sure how the embassy works where your fiance is from, but according to the Israeli embassy they said it was OK, they'll wait for the police report and no need to reschedule the interview.

I wish my fiance could bring in his police report but they specified that it has to be mailed by their police and not brought in.

I'm hoping that the interview won't have to be rescheduled. I emailed the US Embassy and asked them what we can be done about this situation.

Have you tried calling the State Department? (202) 663 1225 then press 1,0,0 to talk to someone. You need your case number. Maybe they can help.

I called the State Department. The "visa specialist" said that my fiancee should attend the interview where they'll still determine whether she qualifies for the visa (or not). The police report will have to be sent in as soon as she receives it--then there'll be a background check, etc. This could add at least two weeks to the whole process.
