Hi. i was denied. My Cspa age was only checked by the consul. The embassy even emailed us before the interview to make sure i bring cenomar. There was no comment during the prescreening. They even let me sign the letter that i should not marry before i enter the states. So i guess NVC really doesnt check it as well. Its sad that they let me go through this far just to inform me im not eligible.

Sorry to hear that. Curious, did you check your CSPA age yourself using a CSPA calculator before you completed the forms/paid fees?

So sorry to hear about the denial/ineligibly. The obscurity of immigration is really frustrating. This is why I always advise people to go through this process with cautious optimism because it is never guaranteed.

Hope it all works out for you.

It’s particularly frustrating with CSPA, where we have seen cases both of people being left off petitions when they have turned 21 but are still eligible under CSPA, and like this when they are left on even though they have aged out. There just doesn’t seem to be any consistency in how NVC handles these cases.

It’s critical for anyone over 21 to check CSPA age for themselves. It’s not discretionary and is a simple either/or determination so one can see whether or not they will qualify.

Hi Susie

I have the same scenario with marcuz. Our priority date is 16dec1996. I was still 4 years old back then.

We have no idea on what was our approval date. My uncle said he did not received any mail regarding the approval date of our petition.

I tried email-ing NVC but with no success regarding our approval date.

Even though im confident that I am no longer eligible. I will still go through the visa process.

Hi! Can you give an update about your case? Did you get your visa approved?
