Are there  2019 petitions that got approved even if the couple only met once?

My fiancè and I met in October last year and filed for K1 this March.  We met once this January because that was when we can only both file for vacation leave from work.

I want to be positive about this. Thanks in advance to all those who will share their thoughts on this.

Have you been approved yet for your petition?

Not yet. We just filed last March.

One time meeting a lot of times for Philippines is not a big issue as long as the evidence in the petition and the ongoing relationship material at the interview seems strong to the CO.

We only met once after dating for almost a year, then about a year later filed for the I-129f. We got approved no issues. We are only 4 years apart, but as others mentioned the age gap in the Philippines tends not to be much of an issue. There's been a couple of people on here who are 30+ years apart so.

08/15/2014 : Met Online

06/30/2016 : I-129F Packet Sent

11/08/2016 : Interview - APPROVED!

11/23/2016 : POE - Dallas, Texas

From sending of I-129F petiton to POE - 146 days.

02/03/2017 - Married

02/24/2017 - AOS packet sent

06/01/2017 - EAD/AP Combo Card Received in mail

12/06/2017 - I-485 Approved

12/14/2017 - Green Card Received in mail - No Interview

Thanks. Our case is, we have met October last year,  got engaged January this year and filed in March. We dont have lots of pictures because we didnt know at that time that  we would need a lot for the petition and we are not  just fond of taking pictures.. What other proof of relationship will be strong enough to make the CO approve the petition other than photos?

Photos are secondary. We literally submitted 5-6 photos together from our one meeting as I'm not huge on photos haha, I prefer taking them rather than being in them. So we didn't have any others to show at the interview. We used 2-3 Xoom (money transfers) of small amounts as I was helping him just to pay for his internet every few months when he was running low on money. Some will say be cautious about using these as evidence as it can look bad, but really depends on the amount and frequency. Then mainly we used ongoing chat logs to show a time line of continued communication, like 4-5 screen shots from each month since we submitted the petition. Other than that the Philippines is generally pretty easy going. They seem to make a decision in a case off the original I-129f petition so, the interview is pretty straight forward, they asked my husband about me the petitioner, where I lived, what I did for work, my birth date, what we did when we were in Manila together. And they do at least skim chat logs. They asked him who was calling who "Pogi" in the chats as we have each other labeled differently in our phones, he has me as a "pet" name and I have his nickname Zian on mine so he wanted to clarify who was saying what haha. Other than that, pretty straight forward process again, but if you feel you need to show a lot, by all means go in there loaded up with chat logs/phone records, pictures, ect.

Thank alot for making me smile today. I was worried about our age gap.

We have a 27 year age gap also. We met through a friend. We messaged and video chatted for about 5 months. I visited her once for 3 weeks. Mailed the I-129F June 27, 2016. Her interview was quick and easy. She arrived in the U.S. Oct.31, 2016. In the Philippines, the age gap is not a problem.

Thanks for sharing. I hope my interview would be the same as yours, quick and easy too.

We only knew each other for less than that when we filed. Do what is required, remember your relationship is most important (regardless of the process), and Do Not Lie to immigration about anything.

Thank you so much.. I tried asking my fiancè if he can come back to accompany me during the interview but if he cant ill follow what you did it.  We do exchange gifts once in a while.  I guess i can use that as proof of relationship.
