Hello there,

i am newly registered, but i checked out this webpage a few times. I am going through the process of applying for the K3 visa since last year, April i believe. I am so happy for you!!! Congratulations. You seem very confident about the arrival of your visa via the German mail! :) My question is, when did you have your medical done??? Mine is scheduled the same day as the interview itself, so i am a little nervous that it will take longer than 2 weeks. Thank you for your help and congratulations again. I'll be sure to check and see when you post a note saying "got my visa in the mail"! :)

Finally this day came for me too. I left the house early in the morning (4:30 am) because I was afraid of the traffic, a lot of rain and trucks on autobahn 5 but all good, I arrived to the Consulate in Frankfurt at 6:00 am. I parked in front of the Consulate and I was the second in line..but first person was for a work visa so....and the third in line was a VJ friend, Diana (John&Diana)-approved too :D .

Inside, first you pass the security, then you go to the visa building.

Window 22 pay the fee, window 23 give the number from the entrance, visa application (DS-230 part 2), 1 photo (I showed her a bunch of pictures and she picked the correct one lol) and I received a list with the order they want my documents at the next window and an envelope to put stamps on it (value of the stamps 4.25 euro).

Window 18, the lady (very nice lady) took the requested documents and explained me about the POE and removing the conditions...plus she noticed that my passport will expire in December so she advise me to keep the expired passport too when I get the new one.

Window 17: interview. I signed DS-230 part 2 in front of the Officer, he asked me where we are going to live in the States, he took my fingerprints and.... APPROVED. He said they have everything they need and they are ready to issue my visa so in maxim a week i will get the visa in the mail.

Since last year? Wow........I started the DCF on Jan 12 and 5 days later I went for my medical since the medical is good for 6 months and the DCF is a process not longer than 5-6 months.

Why you put the medical in the same day with the interview? You know that you can go there anytime to have it done. I say that because if you do it in the same day with the interview than the Embassy has to wait for your results in order to issue the visa, so a delay for you to get your visa.

I am very sure my visa will get here fast, the Officer said that Monday, Tuesday for sure. But I have a feeling it will be here on Friday this week :D .

And the interview is a piece of cake, do not be stressed about it.

Yes Walter, it feels so good. The strange part was that I was not nervous or stressed I was so relaxed that morning. And the people there are so kind and patient they explain you everything about the POE, lifting conditions, if you have problems getting the SSN in the mail, they answer to any question you have. In a way they make you forget about all the stress and madness of this whole process. I give them a 10 from 10.

Well, the time flies fast and soon you'll get to go through the same experience. I wish you GOOD LUCK :thumbs:
