Hello,

I am a German citizen marrying an American. We are getting married here in August and already prepare for our move to the States.

Therefore, I was wondering if one of you - who already have experience with DCF - could help me with some questions.

We know that we are eligible for the DCF and are going to file it early August. Here are my questions:

1. While the filing is in process, do you know if I could fly to the states and enter as a tourist for 90 days or will I be denied entry because I filed for DCF (I know that on a K-3 I could travel to the States while the Visa is being processed)?

2. Does my husband (American) have to attend the interview in Frankfurt or can I go by myself (or bring some other support)?

3. I saw that for some Visas the USCIS requires vaccinations ... are there any vaccinations required for the DCF (if so, I would like to get started on that as some vaccinations take several shots and need waiting time in between)?

Thank you for your help!

Crossing my fingers for everybody in the process!

1) To be honest, I wouldn't risk it. I know people do it all the time, but we just knew we didn't want to be out 700-1300 bucks if he got turned away. It is not a long time to wait through Frankfurt. Our time was 3.5 months to interview. Could have been shorter (husband kept screwing up), but life, eh?

2) Nope, he doesn't have attend with you.

3) Yep. Unfortunately, I don't know what they are off hand. I am sure the embassy website has a list somewhere.

Hello to you,

1. You can travel as long as you can proof that you will return to your country: a job etc ....

2. No need for your husband to be at the interview with you

3. Vaccinations required: TB, MMR and Varicella. If you have your shots record you will be fine, if not, you can go and take your shots all in the same day, like I did.

Good luck to you and, like Wacken said, join us on that thread.
