so I vaguely remember finding a form that is required when marrying a foreign fiance that involves giving all these familial details such as parents work histories, their parents legal names, cities lived in ect. I'm estranged from my mom and my dad died eons ago. I basically have no information on either and it would be next to impossible to find info for any forms like that. does anyone know this form I'm talking about or if this is needed for marriage approval? do I need to dig up a bunch of info facts? is that required at all?

We had a similar problem and wrote n/a and explained on the last page that my USC fiance had no contact for decades. We just got NOA2 as in petition approved and on to the next step.

As mentioned before you put down parents names, birth date and place, current adress. If you're not sure or don't know just explain it on the last page.

Answer as you can, if you can't,  repy "unknown"

YMMV

Just put what you do know. We used "unknown" on various parts; such as what city my husbands father currently lives in. And we didn't have any problems!

Just put unknown or decreased if applicable. My mother did not have a good relation with my father's side and we do not to remind her of the past so whenever we need to put our father's/his side's information - we just put unknown.  My ex had K-1 interview, she just told the interviewer that we had no contact for so long when they asked about my father.
