We had our interview today and we just received the notification that our card is being produced!!

The interview was very fast, a little over half an hour. They asked to check my birth certificate again. I think might be a misundrestanding in between our birth certificate and "Acta de nacimiento". I had to explain the difference in between the two and provide the apostille translation.

The interviewer was very kind and polite. They asked us info about each other, the regular stuff. And they asked for some evidence and we showed everything we brought but they just took some of it and some pictures.

I will post here when we have the GC on hand and maybe clarify on what we need to do when applying for the 10 year GC.

Thank you all for your constant support and help during this whole process!! And happy holidays everybody!

Congratulations! Happy holidays!

I'm so happy everyone is concluding the greencard process. I know a guy who got his greencard approved and was told on the interview that the ROC is just a formality, they want to know any changes during that 2 year period, did you have kids?, did you have a new job or have you been promoted?, did you move or bought a home? Is the relationship equal or stronger? @Fe.Ta @andreaam you'll be fine. Gather all evidence but you're not going to experience an interview like the GC, it's less stressful and more like an update.

I will follow your ROCs, hope to meet you at that stage! Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄 ❤!!

@Fer Schvarztman Congrats!!!! So happy to hear that everything went smooth for you guys too! We are planning to do the case prompt in January if we don't hear anything, so it's been really helpful for all you have been able to share on your journey. What a wonderful way to ring in the new year!!! 🤩

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all doing great! Feel like it's been a while - we shipped off our renewal forms for the EAD/AP on Monday and they were received on Tuesday. My husband's current EAD/AP card expires in early May so hopefully we didn't get these off too late to be processed.

We are still waiting on an interview. Our case is technically at the National Benefits Center and I don't see a processing timeline to see if we are safe to inquire about our case status. For our "closest office" (Dallas, TX), it says 12-25 months so we still aren't technically in that window either. Not sure if we inquiry if that'll create any "flags" against us if we are asking about an interview before the receipt date of inquiry. Our NOA date is 11/12/2019 and right now the Dallas location says receipt dates of 02/16/2019 for inquiry.

Any advice on inquiring at this point?

Thanks always!

Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing well. We are getting a bit worried with processing times. We sent our EAD/AP renewal in January and haven't seen any movement since (other than "We received it and we're processing it"). It expires in July. The receipt notice also has my husband's last name spelled wrong and we've tried twice to submit a typo form but no response. Green card is STILL waiting for NYC...410 days since we filed.

Hoping to hear some good news soon. Any advice for those of us just waiting and waiting and waiting? Might try to call USCIS and see if they can provide any info...😕

Hey @andyazcu

Did you check your processing time on the USCIS website? (https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/) - I think if you are "past due" then you can prompt for case inquiry. We looked at our closest service center and dates were still pretty far out from our receipt date so we didn't prompt and I didn't hear anything back about if it would be safe to try and prompt prior to the date because I also didn't to "red flag" us in some way either.

We submitted the EAD/AP renewal a little late since my husband's EAD/AP is up on May 4th. The USPS postal tracker said it was delivered on March 9 but we have yet to receive any electronic notification (even with the G-1145 form included) or letters regarding the EAD/AP renewal. We did get the Green Card Interview notice on March 18th so not sure if this was connected in some way or not.

It took us 495 days to get the electronic notification (March 18) that our green card interview was scheduled (AOS receipt date was 11/09/2019).

Sorry for all the waiting and that I don't have more insights on the EAD/AP renewal! Hopefully you'll hear something soon or can prompt for case inquiry! Maybe someone else had better information about the EAD/AP renewal!

A quick follow up: We did get a text message on 4/1/2021 that our EAD/AP renewals were received and the snail mail arrived 4/8/2021. On the EAD/AP, the received date was 3/9/2021 and the Notice Date is 4/1/2021. On the EAD I-797 mailer, there is a section that basically says the EAD card is good for another 180 days now past expiration date. They list the following for this qualification to be valid: filed before the EAD expired [which we did], the EAD matched a qualifying category [which (c)(9) does], the EAD matches the "class requested" on the notice [which we didn't change so it does] and haven't received the renewal EAD before the current one expires.

We are working hard on all of our green card interview materials, but this at least gives a little breathing room since his EAD expires on 5/4/2021 and we have no idea if/when a new EAD will be issued or if they even will since the green card interview is coming up so soon 😅

I don't think our interview lasted more than 5-10 minutes... we were both a little confused leaving, but not going to complain. We brought all the documents and had basically two big folders with us and a photo album.

The interviewer asked for my (USC) driver's license and my husband's passport and driver's license. He asked how my husband entered the country, if he complied with the K-1, and his last date of entry. He asked him when we got married and to see our marriage certificate. He asked if I was a U.S. citizen and then what joint assets we had together. We listed off a few things like joint bank account, credit cards, etc. and said we brought documents of other items like Sam's club membership, being users on my mom's phone bill, etc. He did not ask to see any other documents outside our IDs and the Marriage Certificate.

Then he took my husband's finger prints and photo. Said he was doing a background check on us both. And then he was like "ok, you're done, you're approved."

I haven't seen my husband's case status update yet on the USCIS website but will keep checking it. Hopefully this just means green card coming soon!
