So my fiance got her Acta de nacimiento legalized, apostiled and translated. The only thing we are not sure about is that she was told that is better to have the translated document now apostiled as well. Any thoughts on this guys?

Hmm...I don't think you need to. We had my fiance's Argentinian divorce decree legalized and apostilled then sent everything to be translated and it was accepted by USCIS for our I-129F without any RFE. We didn't "re-apostille" the english version and it was fine.

That’s what Argentina wants you to do but is not needed for AOS

So if she does it regardless, do you think it will cause problems? I told her that is probably unnecessary but she wants to go ahead with it.

Is not going to be a problem. Is just more money and time. Is up to you.

So, question....we are planning on getting married July 24th, almost a month after we enter on June 26th.  Is this going to be a problem?  Should we aim for an earlier wedding date at the courthouse?  We are planning on starting the SSN immediately on the 26th, etc.  But, everything else needed only AFTER the marriage happens will not take place until after July 24th.  Our concern is that it makes the GC take longer, since we have read in multiple threads that it is taking a while.  Thoughts?

The sooner you marry and have your marriage certificate, the sooner you can file AOS/EAD/AP. It's really up to you but you should do all of that within the 90 days of entry to stay in legal status.

And yes, do SSN ASAP before marriage and before your I-94 expires :)

Our plan was to have all the paperwork prepped so that on the 25th of July we can do all of the AOS and such, which would still be within a 30-day period.  Just wanted to get additional thoughts.

@Fe.Ta it depends on you. Nothing will happen. We are getting marry next week and we will try to submit AOS the next day. The less you wait the better but maybe a month is not a difference. I’m not really looking at AOS timelines right now

@andreaam Hey there!
Would you be able to answer this question by chance?

When I got my closed envelope inside a pink folder, there was an envelope under my name saying " personal documents", my acts was inside, that is why I had to send it back to Argentina to have it apostille and translated, then my dad sent it through dhl. So try to do translation and apostille before you leave the country

Random question: Does anyone know what to do about voting? This year is elections and we may need to have my fiance exempt or excused because of moving to the US. Thoughts?

Being out of the country is good enough. The passport is the proof. Anyway if they make him pay the penalty fee in some moment of his life it will be 50 pesos.

I wasn’t in the country for the last election and I never paid the fee or claimed that I was out the country. I wouldn’t worry about it.
