We are wrapping up our AOS to file and for whatever reason (we are going through RapidVisa), it is now wnaitng a co-sponsor because in 2016 (when the household was NOT 4 people) I earned less than the "requirement of a house of 4".  Do I really need a co-sponsor?  It didn't require one for the K-1.  I make over way over the minimum requirement now (present) and have assets.

I would assume it only applies what you currently make annually. If you can support both I don't see a reason why you need to list that from 3 years ago.

Well, according to RapidVisa, it "IS" an issue and I could possibly have a RFE.  The most ridiculous thing is that the "requirement" is $868 more than what I made that year.  I mean, common on, is it truly that intense or is RapidVisa that annoying?  I just would like to see if someone on VJ went through this and it turned out OK for them.

You need only that you are at or above 125% of the poverty level for your family size based on tax transcripts for the TY 2018 filing. You don't need 3 years. If you meet or exceed the 125% no need for a cosponsor. Rapid Visa 🤯😩

You have to ask yourself do you feel lucky? Then submit with $868 short. If they come back with an RFE then respond to the RFE with plan B. Simple.

Just FYI I only included IRS transcript and w2 from 2018. Including from previous years is only optional.

Just to confirm, for the K1 you did include 2016 and 2017 along with 2018 and 2019. But, for AOS you only included 2018 and 2019?

Just to make it clear there is no 2019 tax because we will file them in 2020.

For k1 I only submitted IRS transcripts for 2016, 2017 and 2018 because they asked for them if I remember. For AOs it was only optional previous years. They only want the most recent tax year which is 2018 for us. Also I didn't include the previous years for AOS because I don't have my W-2 from 2016 and for AOs they require both IRS transcript and w2. So I didn't want to send incomplete optional documents.

Hopefully that makes sense

We did w2 and IRS transcripts for 2017 and 2018 only

@Javier Mera It's me again!  Sorry!  If I recall correctly, your wife had to do the medical again, yes?  Did you also submit his separately with the vaccines or was this part of the original AOS?

Haha no worries in asking, this is what the forum is for 😀. She had to do her medical again and we filed it separately from AOs and EAD. It was sort of interesting when we came in to do her medical because according to the staff , at Port of entry she should have gotten more paperwork from the medical examination in Argentina that was required for the interview. All she had with her was a two sheet with the vaccines she had taken which was helpful but not entirely. They did blood and urine sample and physical again. The only vaccine she needed again was the MMR that apparently has a 1 month expiration. So the lady told us to make sure to file within those 30 days otherwise the form would be invalid.

We waited to have the AOs noa1 to file i693 so that we could include a cover letter stating that the medical was supposed to go along with AOs receipt number xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hope that helps!
