So it's been 1 week and 2 days since I mailed everything for AOS and EAD. Someone received it and signed it the next day and still no word from them. I called my bank and they confirmed me that the money orders haven't been reconciled. I'm starting to get impatient 😂

You can go to the July 2019 AOS filers thread and read that there’s a lot of people waiting for NOA1. Even more time than you. I was lucky to get it after a week but there’s people waiting since the beggining of july. I don’t know what’s the deal. Why it takes different time to everyone

Note for people who haven't filed AOS yet, they just updated the I-485 today. I signed up to get notified when USCIS updates forms which is super helpful to avoid RFE and keep current, you can do it here: https://www.uscis.gov/forms-updates

I got noa1s for AOs and EAD last night August 17. Waiting for the biometric appointment now. Also I wasn't aware that the fee for EAD is not required when filing as family based and mine got sent back lol.

If you fill AOS, EAD & AP are free

  1. Joint Account: Create a joint account as soon as you are married, so it'll show both names and address, as well as proof of all the marriage spendings, rent, etc. You need your SSN# and marriage certificate to get one, also as soon as you get an account, the better to get credit.
  2. Creditcard and personal account for beneficiary: You need to have a service under your name and SSN# to have one. Also do it as soon as possible, so you start gaining credit points.
  3. Lease or mortgage: you'll need proof of adress, so after marriage, ssn#, and accounts, both names of spouses should be in the lease or mortgage. Also must have services under both of you, showing same adress and congratulatory letters to both spouses to the same home adress

OK, so, I wanted to get clarification on something.  How critical are these highlighted items before we submit AOS?  We have joint accounts that were just created last week, so there is not much spending on those.  We do not pay rent, etc.  I own the house because it was an inheritance and, therefore, it will not be under both of our names.  Additionally, the bank told us we need to wait at least a month before a credit card will be issued to him.  So, thoughts?  Are these critical?
