"(3) Translations. Any document containing foreign language submitted to USCIS shall be accompanied by a full English language translation which the translator has certified as complete and accurate, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate from the foreign language into English."

As stated in:

Ah, I know it still has to be translated, thank you!

But I was asking about where @andreaam mentioned that these documents don't need to be apostilled!

Right.  She may be alluding to the fact that it doesn't literally state that it does need to be apostilled.  So, the lack of a statement about apostilled documents in itself leads us to believe it is not a requirement.  But, she can confirm that herself. :)

@Ointeina I agree with @Fe.Ta when you go to the USCIS website, in the 'Foreign Lenguage Documents' section, it only says that the documents only required to be translated. No need to apostilled, notarized or legal actions required.

I even personally asked in a general AOS forum and people with green card assured me they were approved without apostilled any document, only translation.

Is you still want to apostille the Acta, search about doing it in the US. Apostilla de la Haya is an international document. I'm pretty sure you can do it here, as well as sworn translation if you want and notarazation.

Alright so just to be clear, it is absolutely not required to apostille the acta?

I know the translation is 100% required, but I just need that question cleared up, thanks! :)

Gotcha, thanks!

Now I'm entirely curious, how would one go about having the acta apostilled in the US?

Here is more information that could be helpful about apostille in general when it comes to the U.S.:

Here are some services:

I have not read all of these thoroughly because we did ours in Argentina, but I hope it helps.  Likewise, if you use any of the services, make sure you do some research on how legit the companies are before you submit sensitive documents.  Just a thought.

OK, so, I am a little confused.  I've read the AOS and EAD can be done simultaneously.  How do we go about that?  And, does this mean we still have to wait for another 6-8 months before he can work?

You have to complete the EAD form and send more passport photos. It takes between 6-8 months to have it and to be able to work. AOS takes between 12-18 months

Thank you!  Can he go to school in the meantime, since he has a SSN and the paperwork would have been filed?  Or do we have to wait for the AOS and EAD for that?

I think he can. I would ask in a general forum if some more paperwork is needed for that.

@Greenbaum  There are several posts on this topic, but the answers were a bit all over the place, so I thought I would ask you here for the sake of those of us currently in the AOS.  My fiance and I will be applying for AOS and EAD in August 2019.  Can he attend a culinary school (technical college) without having either?  In some posts they say that ICE, USCIS, etc. does allow it to happen, but it depends in the school itself.  Do you have any thoughts or advice about it?  Thanks!

He can attend a school but cannot legally receive employment compensation untill he has his SSN and EAD authorization. Each school will be able to addressed this issue so before enrolling get your questions answered.  I really don't see any issue. There isn't any more information required.
